Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of FHIR standards, ensuring accuracy and efficient data exchange Ingest healthcare data from source systems into FHIR resources, via ETL processes, checking for data quality and integrity.
- Create and maintain data mapping specifications to transform non-FHIR data formats into FHIR-compliant data.
- Develop scalable API endpoints, scaling FHIR solutionsImplement security measures and access controls to protect sensitive healthcare data.
- Comply with healthcare data privacy regulations, such as HIPAA.
- Record and maintain comprehensive artifacts of FHIR implementations, data transformation processes, and data flows in tools, like confluence.
- Stay informed about evolving FHIR standards.
- Be an active participant in program increment (PI) planning.
Minimum Requirements
- A team player; willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly.
- Experience with working and negotiating with stakeholders.
- Experience at CMS or in the healthcare industry.
- 4+ years doing FHIR development.
- 4+ years of Java development, alongside some familiarity with Python, Ruby on Rails.
- 4+ years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably in large-scale cloud applications.
- 4+ years of experience developing RESTful API endpoints with object oriented programming languages (e.g, Java/Spring).
- Must be very familiar with healthcare data and integration, including HL7, FHIR, JSON, XML.
- Familitary with development and implementation of concept maps, especially with respect to FHIR resources.
- Must have experience dealing with large volumes of clinical data and understand the challenges in cleaning data and identify ways to improve conformance and quality.
- Understanding of Healthcare terminology sets (ICD, SNOMED, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC) as well as standards for interoperability (HL7v2, FHIR).
- Must live in the Continental US.
- Be either a US citizen or Permanent Resident due to the work we do.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Past development experience, specifically web application development.
- Previous public sector consulting experience and understanding customer needs.
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) or other agile framework.
