Position Summary

This is a Java/J2EE resource (with security/governance domain knowledge) on a team of 5-6 developers delivering in a Scaled Agile environment. They are expected to work directly with key stakeholders to understand the business requirements and design/deliver complex solutions. They are responsible for utilizing best practices in order to ensure high quality software solutions. The ideal candidate for this job should have strong experience in Java development with a focus on Spring framework. They should be comfortable building REST services to support Customer Facing UI as well as integrating with back-end SOAP/REST based web services. The team owns some of the most critical, high volume applications built on mulit-tier Spring architectures. Experience with Javascript technlogoies is a big plus. This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
  • Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
  • Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
  • Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
  • Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
  • Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
  • Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise Java experience

• Rapid Design/Implementation of Complex Solutions

• Provide feedback in code reviews for improvements

• High Energy/Collaborative working style

• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly

• Bring improvement ideas to the team and be capable of driving the execution/implementation

Technologies Required :

• Java 7 or higher

• Spring Framework (3.2 or higher a requirement, Spring 4.x or higher is a nice-to-have). 

• Spring packages used: Core / Web / WebMVC / JDBC / Transaction Management / JMS / AOP / Context / Test / WS / Security

• SQL (Oracle)

• Web Services – REST / SOAP

• XML and JSON binding libraries (jaxb, Jackson, gson, etc)

• Unit Tests – Junit

• Experience with GIT, Maven, Nexus, Eclipse(or equivalent IDE)

• Comfortable with deploying code to application servers (JBoss/Tomcat/Websphere)

• Experience with MQ (Websphere MQ or ActiveMQ)

• Experience with BPM software

• Experience with HTML, Javascript, CSS
