As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will oversee production engineering, developer operations, and deployments, while mentoring junior team members and driving technical direction.
We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
Plaid’s infrastructure handles millions of requests per day, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a robust API. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and scale the foundations for production engineering, developer operations, and deployments. You will also work hand-in-hand with the product teams to help ship new products and features as well as facilitating operational excellence throughout the product's lifecycle. You will be responsible for keeping the ship sailing smoothly, and your creations will serve as the bedrock for products serving millions of users.
As a Tech Lead on the Infrastructure team, you will:
Own and drive technical direction for key infrastructure domains, working closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners. Mentor engineers and raise the bar on technical excellence, providing thoughtful feedback, growing ICs through stretch opportunities, and modelling high-craft engineering. Drive alignment and clarity across teams, facilitating collaborative technical decision-making and shepherding complex initiatives through to delivery. Design and evolve core infrastructure systems to support Plaid’s scaling needs, including resilient multi-cluster deployments and observability tooling. Improve build and release systems by leading enhancements to our self-serve deployment platform, empowering service teams to move quickly and safely. Balance hands-on execution with system-wide oversight, contributing to roadmap validation, architectural design, and deep-dive reviews while ensuring the team moves with velocity and quality.
