Instrument is a design and technology company. We build brands, products, and experiences that move businesses forward—by making the complex simple.
For over 20 years, we’ve partnered with companies like Google, ServiceNow, Uber, Eventbrite, and ŌURA, helping them navigate change, launch new ideas, and grow with intention.
Our work spans Brand, Marketing, and Product, but what defines us is how we work. We bring strategy, design, and engineering together from the start, moving quickly from idea to execution and refining as we go. We aim to do great work and be great to work with, because both matter.
We’re a collaborative, hands-on team with roots in Portland and New York and a distributed presence across the U.S. and Europe. We build teams around the needs of the work, staying nimble without sacrificing craft.
We value curiosity, perspective, and continuous learning, and we’re committed to building an inclusive environment where people can do their best work.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.
An Executive Producer at Instrument is a senior delivery leader responsible for shaping and guiding complex, high-impact engagements. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy—balancing creative ambition, operational rigor, and financial stewardship to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Executive Producers work across engagements and accounts, aligning multidisciplinary teams, strengthening client partnerships, and ensuring delivery excellence at every stage. They play a critical role not just in executing the work, but in defining how it gets delivered—contributing to the evolution of production practices and helping scale impact across the studio.
What You'll Do
- You’ll operate across projects and accounts, ensuring that delivery is cohesive, strategic, and built to succeed. This means setting direction early, maintaining momentum through complexity, and guiding teams toward strong outcomes—creatively, operationally, and financially.
- You’ll partner closely with design, technology, and strategy to orchestrate the right teams and approaches for each engagement. You’ll help teams navigate ambiguity, make informed tradeoffs, and stay aligned to both client goals and business realities.
- A core part of the role is maintaining a clear view of delivery health—proactively identifying risks, managing scope, and ensuring that projects remain on track across timeline, budget, and quality.
- You’ll also act as a senior client partner—someone who builds trust, facilitates alignment, and helps guide decisions as priorities evolve. Whether shaping a new engagement or strengthening an existing partnership, you’ll connect delivery strategy to long-term success.
- Beyond individual engagements, you’ll contribute to how production operates across the studio—mentoring producers, strengthening delivery practices, and helping define what great looks like as the discipline evolves.
What You'll Bring
- You’ve led complex, multidisciplinary work and are comfortable operating at a level where your decisions influence outcomes across teams, clients, and business priorities.
- You have a strong understanding of delivery strategy—how to scope, plan, and execute work in a way that balances ambition with feasibility. You’re able to navigate competing constraints and make decisions that support both creative quality and operational health.
- You’re skilled at building and maintaining trusted client relationships, translating complexity into clarity and guiding conversations around priorities, tradeoffs, and long-term value.
- You bring a high level of financial and operational acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring projects deliver against expectations.
- You care about building strong teams and environments where people can do their best work—whether that’s through mentorship, clear communication, or creating the conditions for effective collaboration.
- You’re curious about emerging tools and technologies, and you apply sound judgment about when and how they can meaningfully improve the work.
