WNCN, the Nexstar station in Raleigh, is looking for a hands-on, aggressive, Executive Producer who can help take our newscasts to the next level.  The successful candidate must have a proven track record as a creative newscast producer or executive producer.  Candidates must have strong leadership skills and news judgment, the ability to showcase important stories, and know how to win “Breaking News and Weather”.  As a key newsroom manager, the EP will recruit talented staff, help craft the station's daily content, and work with producers, the assignment desk, our crews in the field, and our digital team.  The EP will work closely with the News Director and Assistant News Director to set and uphold the high standards for how CBS 17 newscasts are produced and executed as well as content across all digital platforms.  This is your opportunity to live and work in an area consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in America.  Candidates must have a BA in Journalism and a minimum of 2 years management experience at a network affiliate. If you’re ready to join our team, please apply online at the Nexstar Career site at www.nexstar.tv   

  • Responsible for evaluating stories; organizing them into a cohesive sequence within a newscast or digital content for the web

  • Responsible for successful marketing of projects and adherence to budget

Requirements & Skills:

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or the equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in television or radio broadcast/production
  • Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
  • Utilize state-of-the-art television technology
