Labcorp is seeking an Executive Director, Sourcing and Procurement – Indirect Category to join our team in the Burlington NC or Raleigh/Durham NC location.

Work Schedule: Full time, hybrid role (with normally three days per week on-site), Monday-Friday 8a-5p.  Alternative and additional hours, including cross-time zones, evening, nights, and weekends (including on-call) is occasionally required.

Up to 25% travel (domestic and international) may be required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for global indirect sourcing and procurement across multiple categories, including but not limited to HR, Professional Services, IT goods and services, logistics, packaging, travel, facilities, general services and third party laboratories.
  • Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with enterprise financial, operational, and growth objectives.
  • Drive margin improvement initiatives through strategic sourcing, demand management, supplier consolidation, and commercial negotiations.
  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on people development, leadership capability, analytics, and negotiation excellence.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and business partner to senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Compliance, HR, IT, Operations, and business leadership.
  • Establish and maintain effective sourcing governance, policies, procedures, and standard operating models in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee complex supplier relationships, including vendors with long-standing MSAs and multiple SOWs, ensuring commercial optimization, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) teams to ensure adherence to regulatory, ethical, and risk standards.
  • Leverage sourcing tools, contracting platforms, ERP systems, analytics, and benchmarking resources to enable data-driven decision-making and transparency.
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives associated with enterprise transformation, system implementations, and process standardization.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier innovation, and industry best practices to continuously improve sourcing outcomes and capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations
  • 12 or more years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, with significant leadership responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Certification in CPSM, CIPS or PMP

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-category indirect sourcing organizations in a large, matrixed, global environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings, margin improvement, and enterprise value through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience leading sourcing transformations, ERP or contract lifecycle management (CLM) implementations, or operating model redesign
  • Strategic leadership with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in indirect sourcing, category management, and complex contract negotiations.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including talent development, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Advanced analytical and financial acumen; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, across technical and executive audiences.
  • Change leadership and comfort operating in evolving, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong business judgment, integrity, and commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or other highly regulated industries.

The Executive Director, Sourcing & Procurement – Indirect Category provides strategic and operational leadership for Labcorp’s global indirect sourcing and procurement activities. This role is accountable for developing and executing category strategies across a broad portfolio of indirect spend, driving margin improvement, supplier performance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment across the enterprise.

Reporting to senior Supply Chain leadership, this position leads a global, multi-disciplinary team and partners closely with Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, HR, Operations, and business unit leaders to deliver sustainable value, standardize sourcing practices, and enable scalable growth through effective policies, tools, and governance.
