GENERAL FUNCTION: 

Leadership, client-facing role, directing deal teams working on asset securitization transactions focusing on ABS esoteric structured products backed by digital infrastructure, music and film royalties intellectual property, and whole business.  Specific asset classes within digital infrastructure include data center, fiber, and cell tower.  Responsible for originating and execution of securitization opportunities, both loan and ABS, including public and private (144a or 4a2) securitizations, portfolio purchases, and advisory services.  Individuals in this position are the leader positioning the Asset Backed Finance business along with the senior Relationship Manager representing the institution and driving and creating relationships with the most important/key clients/issuers.  Individuals are highly skilled, vastly experienced senior originators and structurers capable of fully independent activity including origination, structuring, and execution of large, complex loan and securities transactions. 

Perform all underwriting and work with Credit on all execution opportunities.  Responsible for all components of loan, 144a, and 4a2 execution: including pitching, creating analysis and pitch content, all elements of deal execution, idea generation and rating agency dialogue.  Work with Portfolio Managers to support existing management of the current portfolio and clients.   Will also drive and follow all FTS/FTB key policies and procedures.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensure that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive client/issuer engagement and originate opportunities-all client facing activities- and lead any structured product pitch and presentation content across multiple clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external clients and internal partners.
  • Deliver high value-add ABS and asset backed finance advice (including appropriateness) and analysis to prospects and clients.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with asset-backed financial models and leading dialogue across rating agencies and investors
  • Work as a part of a team to deliver solutions that generate capital markets revenue from a targeted list of clients and prospects.
  • Create and deliver ABS capital markets presentation materials. 
  • Lead and participate in pitching, evaluating, structuring, executing, managing and closing all aspects of ABS and loan asset securitization transactions in public or private markets.
  • Provide ABS execution expertise/guidance to other junior members on the ABF team. 
  • Work with Sales, Trading, and Syndicate to identify investor relationships and drive active engagement with clients and investors
  • Manage and prioritize a pipeline of securitization opportunities through a developed business strategy.
  • Identify, research and analyze potential new asset classes.
  • Drive effective monitoring and reporting of the securitization portfolio.
  • Develops intimate knowledge of all customers and prospect opportunities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for driving deal team coordination on each loan or ABS opportunity and daily roles and responsibilities.  Provide distribution of tasks to ensure successful deal execution and ongoing deal management, and processes for waivers/amendments. Responsible for effective mentoring, management and development of staff.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 10+ years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking or Capital Markets and specifically in a digital infrastructure/intellectual property ABS origination and execution role. 
  • Strong public, 144a, 4a2, and loan ABS deal execution performance history and credit underwriting skills
  • Developed client relationships and management skills within esoterics ABS sector
  • Proven ability to pitch, win, and execute
  • Excellent in-person presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Strong working experience with credit rating agencies and legal teams used in ABS financings and underwritings
  • Strong understanding of transaction models and structural mechanics for these asset classes
  • Solid experience of financing facilities (warehouse, term loan, portfolio)
  • Team player with the ability to be a leader and manager for the sector and team on multiple transactions at any one time
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior executives inside and outside our organization
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7/79/63 license required
