Reports To: Founding Principal and PM
Key Responsibilities
Trade Execution & Portfolio Support:
- Assist with execution and day-to-day management of trades across equities, options, futures, and FX.
- Monitor real-time P&L, exposures, and position performance throughout the trading day.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of each position’s rationale, time horizon, and risk profile.
Principal Interaction & Strategic Alignment:
- Work closely with the Principal to understand and track his evolving market views and tactical priorities.
- Ensure portfolio positioning reflects the strategic direction of the investment team.
-Market Monitoring & News Flow:
- Stay current on earnings, macroeconomic events, and geopolitical developments that may impact positions.
- Flag changes in market conditions, volatility, or liquidity that may require portfolio adjustment.
-Risk Management & Compliance:
- Monitor leverage, exposure, and concentration risk across positions and strategies.
- Ensure internal and regulatory compliance, working with operations to confirm trade accuracy and reporting integrity.
Reporting & Operational Coordination:
- Maintain rigorous documentation of trade decisions, execution notes, and risk summaries.
Qualifications
- 0–5 years of experience at a hedge fund, proprietary trading desk, or institutional investment firm.
- Deep understanding of short- and medium-term trading strategies, market structure, and portfolio risk.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and Bloomberg; familiarity with trading and order management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
