We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior AI/ML Engineer III to serve as the technical leader for our portfolio-wide agentic AI platform initiative. This individual will architect and lead development of a shared agentic platform (agents, tooling functions, orchestration workflows) and an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that can be deployed into many of our portfolio of products. As the senior-most technical member of the central AI team, you will partner closely with the AI/ML Product Manager and AI/ML UX Designer to shape strategy and drive execution of the core technical foundation for all AI functionality across our company. 

  

Responsibilities: 

Technical Leadership & Architecture 

  • Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, secure, multi-tenant agentic AI platform and MCP server infrastructure. 

  • Define technical strategy, architectural blueprints, and component-level specifications for shared AI services. 

  • Evaluate and select core technologies, frameworks, and tools to enable robust AI/ML development and deployment. 

AI/ML Ops & Evaluation 

  • Build and maintain AI/ML Ops pipelines for model training, fine-tuning, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management at scale. 

  • Define methods to quantify performance and define desired model behavior in business-scoped areas/workflows. 

  • Drive comparative testing and benchmarking of LLMs, agents, tools, and supporting components to ensure optimal selections. 

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers, fostering technical excellence and a culture of innovation. 

  • Collaborate with the AI/ML Product Manager and UX Designer to align technical execution with product strategy and UX principles. 

  • Partner with product engineering teams across the portfolio to integrate shared AI platform capabilities into their products. 

Governance, Security & Standards 

  • Implement enterprise-grade security, compliance, and observability for all AI platform components. 

  • Establish coding, testing, and documentation best practices for reusable AI tooling and services. 

  • Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring ethical and trustworthy deployment of AI systems. 

 

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role: 

Required: 

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years focused on AI/ML systems development. 

  • Deep hands-on experience with shipping agents in production, multi-agent orchestration, and LLM-based systems with tool-use and safety guardrails. 

  • Proven expertise in AI/ML Ops (CI/CD for models, model registries, monitoring, observability, and versioning). 

  • Strong background in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems or platform infrastructure. 

  • Familiarity with model evaluation methodologies, benchmarking, reinforcement learning, fine-tuning and experiment management. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of engineers on complex, cross-cutting technical initiatives. 

  • Strong systems thinking, architecture design, and technical communication skills. 

  • Strong programming skills and experience in Python (PyTorch/TF, HF) and full-stack development. Node.js and TypeScript knowledge a plus. 

Preferred:

  • Experience implementing or managing MCP (Model Context Protocol) or comparable contextual orchestration servers. 

  • Prior work in multi-product SaaS environments or platform teams. 

  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and privacy frameworks relevant to enterprise AI deployments. 

  • Experience with tRPC (Type-Safe Backend) 

 

Where: 
The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The target base compensation for this position is $145,000 to $165,000 USD per year in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
