The Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) and separately Managed Account (SMA) Specialist job proactively builds business partnerships both internally at the firm and externally with existing partners and prospects. Working independently with limited supervision, this role is responsible for building ETF and SMA business with allocators/professional buyers in a defined geographic area, leveraging the intersections of asset allocation, models, direct indexing, tax considerations, and customization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partners with distribution, product, portfolio management, and operations to grow Nuveen’s market share in ETFs and SMAs through key advisors, strategists, and centers of influence.

  • Conducts meetings in person and virtually and attends industry conferences. Travel expectations are 25-50% of time.

  • Raise and retain assets in ETFs and SMAs/Direct Indexing

  • Guides the transformation of Nuveen’s leading SMA platform through new technology, marketing tools, and trading capabilities, including direct indexing.

  • Keeps focus on deep pools of assets, such as TAMPs, RIAs, and strategists. Experience and relationships with these market segments is key, while all client channels are covered.

  • Maintains knowledge of competitor products and industry related topics, as well as proficiencies in delivering value-added presentations to advisor and other audiences.

  • Acts as subject matter expert to educate, train and interact with other distribution areas and partners within the firm and within the industry to enhance awareness of Nuveen ETF and SMA offerings.

  • Helps coach and delegate work to junior level team members.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

FINRA Registrations

  • SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

Travel Requirements

  • 80% Roughly 80% travel for client meetings will be required

Physical Requirements

Base Pay Range: $160,000/yr - $200,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
