What would you do?
Role: ESM ITAM Lead Consultant – Licensing Associate
 

Job Description
Serve as the primary authority on software licensing strategy, entitlement governance, and compliance for ServiceNow SAM Pro implementations.
Ensure complex vendor licensing rules are accurately interpreted and configured in the SAM Pro solution.
Collaborate closely with the SAM architect, ServiceNow developers, and the project manager to align functional and technical delivery.
 

Key Responsibilities
Define governance standards for entitlement management, software usage tracking, software lifecycle controls, and auditing parameters.
Translate publisher-specific licensing rules into technical and functional requirements for SAM Pro configurations.
Review and validate software models, license metrics, entitlement imports, and mapping structures.
Ensure SAM Pro reconciliation logic reflects correct license rights, usage rights, and downgrade/upgrade rights.
Provide expert guidance on complex license usage rights (e.g., processor-based, PVU-based, and SaaS subscription models such as usage/seat/role-based).
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, optimization, re-harvesting, and contract negotiation leverage.
Partner with architects and developers to ensure the technical build aligns with licensing rules.
Support data quality assessments and validate data ingestion for software entitlements, contracts, and purchase records.
 

Experience and Qualifications
5–7+ years of hands-on experience in software licensing and SAM/ITAM consulting.
Experience supporting or leading ServiceNow SAM Pro implementations.
Strong ability to interpret contract terms, product use rights, and complex licensing scenarios.
ServiceNow CIS-SAM certification.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience deploying SAM solutions on Flexera and ServiceNow.
