The Equipment Engineer will diagnose and resolve process issues, optimize equipment, coordinate with suppliers, and improve manufacturing processes in the semiconductor industry.

Identify, diagnose and resolve process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC methodology. Coordinate and carry out process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, lead and participate in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handle new process baseline qualifications and manage, audit and liaise with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives. Establish and improve process condition and technology. Upgrade process capability and reduce production cost. Establish and modify process management projects. Set up process parameters for a variety of semiconductor equipment. Evaluation, promotion and planning of new equipment / materials. Abnormal analysis and improvement. Maximize yield by working on tools, the process, or wafer fabrication recipes. Troubleshoot wafer fabrication problems and perform root cause analysis. Work with other process areas to understand and control process deviations. Long-term investigation of defect issues may require extensive work with shift engineering and other functional areas. Evaluate products to ensure they meet the required design and performance specifications. Conduct research to assess process adjustment requirements and recommend process improvements or equipment changes needed to efficiently manufacture new product or part types.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an Equipment Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires experience in:
1. Semiconductor industry and technical troubleshooting;
2. Dry Etch equipment maintenance;
3. JMP and other data analysis programs;
4. Auxiliary support software, including E3/Klarity/SPACE for process control;
5. Controlling electro-mechanical systems including relay logic, servo-motors, and pneumatic systems;
6. TEL dry etch platforms including the Vigus, Telius SCCM, DRM, LK3, RK5 and RK6.
