Job Description:

The Job/What You'll Do:

The Enterprise Business Consultant is a senior, client-facing member of AssetMark’s Enterprise Consulting Team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to enterprise firms, hybrid RIAs, and ensemble practices. By delivering comprehensive business consulting advice, thought leadership, and tailored solutions, you will help firms optimize operations, deepen advisor engagement/retention, and expand enterprise value.

This role is instrumental in strengthening AssetMark’s most strategic enterprise relationships by driving adoption of platform capabilities, increasing share of wallet, and positioning AssetMark as a long-term partner in firms’ growth and evolution. The Enterprise Business Consultant also serves as a primary presenter for firm-facing engagements, industry events, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Advisory & Business Consulting:

  • Assess, analyze, and advise enterprise firms and financial advisors across all areas of practice management, including:
    • Business strategy and planning
    • Human capital and talent strategies
    • Operations and organizational efficiency
    • Branding, marketing, and client experience
    • Business transition, M&A, valuation, and succession planning
  • Lead consulting engagements by designing strategies, directing execution, and delivering actionable recommendations to firm leadership
  • Provide ongoing assessments of client progress, identifying issues and proposing practical solutions
  • Offer meaningful advice to support firm growth, profitability, and enterprise value creation
  • Deliver M&A consulting, including due diligence support and identification of potential opportunities
  • Develop and approve client-facing work products in collaboration with the consulting team

Enterprise Relationship Management & Team Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary consultant for selected and engaged enterprise firms, hybrid RIAs, and ensemble relationships
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with enterprise executives, OSJ leaders, and hybrid RIA stakeholders
  • Act as an advocate for enterprise firm needs within AssetMark, ensuring alignment of platform resources and consulting expertise
  • Collaborate with internal departments to design and deliver coordinated, high-value consulting programs
  • Provide regular updates to the ensemble team on program goals, while reporting on engagement, adoption, and growth outcomes for supported firms

Platform Engagement & Adoption:

  • Guide enterprise executives and advisors in maximizing AssetMark’s solutions, practice management programs, and consulting resources
  • Align consulting recommendations with AssetMark’s investment platform and services to create greater efficiency and scale for firms
  • Monitor KPIs such as AUM growth, advisor adoption, and platform engagement to evaluate success and refine strategies

Events, Thought Leadership, Education & Creative Marketing:

  • Act as a primary presenter for AssetMark events, partner firm conferences, broker-dealer meetings, and industry forums
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations, creating consulting materials and custom client deliverables that showcase AssetMark’s value and thought leadership
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to contribute to thought leadership by developing insights, content, and a framework to produce white papers, case studies, and educational content that highlight consulting insights and best practices
  • Lead webinars, workshops, and group consulting programs designed to educate and inspire firm executives and advisors
  • Manage specialized enterprise initiatives, such as the Leadership Advantage program and other strategic consulting initiatives
  • Support promotion, participation, and facilitation of enterprise and corporate consulting programs
  • Contribute to thought leadership by developing insights, content, and frameworks that address industry challenges and opportunities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to deliver executive-level consulting engagements that result in measurable business outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of practice management, advisor recruiting and retention, succession planning, and M&A advisory
  • Deep understanding of investment platforms, advisor support, and enterprise consulting solutions
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design strategies and lead execution
  • Willingness to travel extensively for on-site client engagements, executive sessions, and industry events

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or equivalent years of experience
  • 7–10+ years of experience in wealth management, consulting, or practice management, with significant exposure to enterprise firms, OSJs, broker-dealers, and hybrid RIAs
  • Experience developing and delivering creative consulting materials, marketing content, and executive presentations

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $110,000-$130,000.

 

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
