Summary

The Enterprise Architect will provide technical architecture review and design services to the organization in the discipline of system architecture and component integration; ensure that technical solutions solve business problems; possesses a much broader range of business and technical expertise; translates business requirements into technical requirements and assists other team members in designing and implementing solutions. This role provides guidance to the business sponsors and developers in delivering solutions that adhere to and that meets the strategic objectives set forth by the Executive and IT Leadership.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as the technical architecture representative and advisor that can work independently in support of specific business initiatives, as well as on teams of various sizes and makeup that may involve direct reports, peers, managers, vendors, customers, consultants, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Creates and/or oversees the creation and accuracy of documentation and diagrams that represent the current technical architecture of the various technology systems as well as high-level and detailed technical designs and specifications for the future state.

  • Identifies and disseminates information about reusable technical assets, applications, and components to the development team and ensures these assets are properly integrated and deployed.

  • Leads the architectural design and implementation of scalable, flexible, and secure IT infrastructure and application architectures by facilitating and gathering input from all project stakeholders, including other architects, developers, system administrators, project managers, SMEs, and consultants.

  • Develops and/or modifies enterprise architecture and development standards that adhere to the TOGAF model.

  • Communicates technical decisions that affect architectural strategy that will impact other systems via governance meetings, review, and recommendation documentation.

  • Identify and manage potential risks related to technology adoption, integration, and security within the enterprise architecture.

  • Tracks industry trends and new technologies bringing forward recommendations.

Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft office suite including Visio.

  • Experience with SharePoint

  • 10+ years Healthcare experience to demonstrate an understanding of the intricacies of healthcare data and an understanding of

  • HIPAA and healthcare regulatory guidelines and practices.

  • 10+ years' experience as an Enterprise Architect.

  • Experience working on large-scale, complex enterprise IT projects, including system integration, cloud migrations, and infrastructure design.

  • Experience implementing Healthcare standard messaging platforms, including Health Level Seven (HL7), Electronic Data

  • Interchange (EDI), Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR), healthcare adapters, interfaces, and services.

  • Other industry experience in addition to healthcare industry experience

Education Requirements            

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Science, or related field
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Science, or related field

Certifications:

  • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) 1 or 2 certification

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification

  • Platform-centric certification at architect level

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                        

  • Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Knowledge of interoperable Service-Orientated Architecture (SOA) systems or microservices, not just standalone products or solutions.

  • Knowledge of how to construct reusable components that can be packaged and deployed as desired to help the organization break up product silos into product packages of cohesive components.

  • Knowledge of semantic technologies like coding, ontologies, and taxonomies.

  • Knowledge of event-driven technologies for messaging, enterprise architecture integration patterns, workflow (human and system) for managing transactions.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) architectures involving elastic solutions, distributed state, high availability, scalability, authentication, encryption, storage, etc.

  • Knowledge of Master data management strategies for corporate-owned data.

  • Knowledge of security strategies, regulations, and best practices.

  • Demonstrated abilities to successfully document and communicate software platform designs to all levels of staff (technical and non­technical).

  • Good technical infrastructure performance modeling and benchmarking skills.

  • Ability to create baseline, target and reference architecture diagrams and analyze gaps.
