Hybrid – 1-2 days onsite per week

Location: London, Salford, or Staines.

Permanent

We make health happen

At Bupa, we’re here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives – and make a better world. We’re a health insurer and provider with no shareholders, so our customers are always our focus. This role plays a key part in shaping the future of our internal functions – including Finance, People, Procurement, Risk and Audit – by driving architectural transformation that supports our mission.

As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you’ll lead the way in defining and delivering strategic architecture across our Group Functions. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, domain heads and engineering teams to create innovative, scalable solutions that improve how we work and deliver value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of architecture across Bupa’s internal functions, aligning business, data, application and infrastructure layers.
  • Define and deliver strategic roadmaps and target architectures in partnership with domain heads.
  • Guide and mentor domain architects and engineering leads to deliver high-quality, pattern-led solutions.
  • Influence senior leadership and secure investment for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teams across Data, Security, Risk, Privacy and Legal to improve ways of working and ensure compliance.
  • Implement new governance models focused on critical decisions that drive business value.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on Bupa’s architecture.
  • Foster a high-performance culture and continuously improve architecture services based on stakeholder feedback.

What We’re Looking For

  • We’re looking for someone who’s confident leading architectural change and comfortable switching between strategic thinking and technical detail. You’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in leading enterprise and solution architecture across multiple domains.
  • Strong background in IT strategy, application modernisation and cloud technologies.
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Knowledge of Agile, product management and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in regulated environments, with a solid understanding of security, privacy and risk.
  • Technical qualifications such as a computing degree and TOGAF certification (preferred).
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
  • Experience in Finance architecture (Accounting, Actuarial, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting) is a plus but not essential.

Benefits

Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people. Viva is our global wellbeing programme and includes all aspects of our health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. We support flexible working and have a range of family-friendly benefits.

Joining Bupa in this role you’ll receive the following benefits and more:

  • 25 days holiday, increasing through length of service, with option to buy or sell
  • Enhanced pension and life insurance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Access to our health and wellbeing services
  • Discounts on Bupa products and services

Why Bupa

We’re a health insurer and provider. With no shareholders, our customers are our focus. Our people are all driven by the same purpose – helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. We make health happen by being brave, caring and responsible in everything we do.

We encourage all of our people to “Be you at Bupa”. We champion diversity and understand the importance of our people representing the communities and customers we serve. That’s why we especially encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Bupa is a Level 2 Disability Confident Employer. This means we aim to offer an interview/assessment to every disabled applicant who meets the minimum criteria for the role. We’ll make sure you’re treated fairly and offer reasonable adjustments as part of our recruitment process to anyone that needs them.
