We are looking for an Engineering Specialist to join our highly skilled Team in North Carolina. The ideal candidate should have some previous experience in civil engineering and a strong interest in the inspection, design, and construction of rail, track, and culverts. You will have the opportunity to work under the direction of experienced engineers, learning design fundamentals and analysis of existing rail infrastructure.
Responsibilities

Participate in a variety of planning, design, and construction projects.

Perform field inspections.

Assist in developing technical design reports, calculations, and memos.

Use AutoCAD to design rail alignments, drainage systems, grading, and other guideway elements.

Develop construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications.

Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders and develop content for these meetings.
Qualifications
-
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
-
A basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals.

Familiarity with civil design drafting software

A strong desire to work with and help clients, public stakeholders, and fellow team members.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

A desire to work on large multidisciplinary rail projects with fast-paced schedules, which require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.

Valid driver’s license
Other positive attributes

An engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.

Experience using Microstation InRoads, OpenRail, and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.

Construction site experience.
Compensation Range:
$55,640.14 - $74,186.85
