About this role 

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll lead a small but growing team of engineers, balancing hands-on technical contributions with strategic leadership. This role requires adaptability, resourcefulness, and a passion for building scalable products from the ground up. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers. 
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning. 
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and rapid iteration. 
  • Ensure technical excellence while moving quickly. 
  • Participate in troubleshooting by digging into the logs, reading code, and teaming up with developers on the team. 
  • Provide architectural and design oversight. 
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes and tools. 
  • Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment. 
  • Work closely with Product, QA, and Operations teams to align priorities. 

  

What we’re looking for 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. 
  • Ability to energize teams and drive shared ownership of goals 
  • Solid understanding of at least one technology within each stack 
  • Backend: Java, Python, Go, Node.js 
  • Frontend: JavaScript (React), TypeScript 
  • Mobile: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android) or Flutter 
  • Cloud Platform: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS (Amazon Web Services) 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. 
  • Comfortable iterating quickly and adapting based on feedback 

 

Nice to have 

  • Experience with Kanban or Scrum 
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Healthcare industry related experience 
  • History of working with New Relic, Datadog, Splunk or other logging/monitoring tooling 
As a remote position, the salary range for this role is:
$130,000$200,000 USD

Total Rewards 

Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal equity.  

Salary is just one component of Transcarent's total package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock options.
