About the role

The Product Engineering team builds the core experiences that make it easy for employers to give — and employees to get — great healthcare. You’ll enable employers to quickly and efficiently manage their employee benefits, build tools that help members choose the right plans for their families, and help our external partners integrate Thatch into their service offerings.

You'll lead a group of talented engineers and collaborate with designers, PMs, and cross-functional partners to craft polished, thoughtful end-to-end experiences. Your work will directly impact employers' ability to offer great benefits and give our members confidence in making informed healthcare and financial decisions.

What you'll do
  • Provide mentorship and support to engineers on the team, including giving feedback.
  • Create intuitive, flexible product flows along with engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Coordinate prioritization and assignment of engineering projects to ensure we’re shipping a high quality, maintainable product.
  • Collaborate with other functions to align on priorities and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Scale the team by recruiting talented engineers.
  • Ship code that advances the team’s goals.
Background we're looking for
  • 6+ years as a full-stack software engineer and 2-3 years experience engineering manager.
  • Understanding of best practices for building maintainable, high quality product experiences.
  • Experience with recruiting, including designing interview loops and sourcing candidates.
  • Excitement around working with users and crossfunctional partners.
