Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Manager – Salesforce platform and DevOps to lead the governance, security, and operational excellence of our Salesforce ecosystem. This hybrid role blends platform strategy and DevOps execution ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable operations across our Salesforce environment. 

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Salesforce architecture and administration with a strong focus on platform scalability, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Salesforce Platform Governance & Strategy 

  • Establish platform governance standards, guidelines, and processes for scalable operations. 

  • Define and implement environmental strategies, including sandbox governance and project allocations. 

  • Manage user provisioning, license optimization, role/profile strategy, and data access policies. 

  • Work with the offshore support team to manage the Bi-Weekly release and cadence to establish practice of release calendar.   

  • DevOps & Release Management 

  • Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Harness/Copado/AutoRABIT, /Gearset or Jenkins. 

  • Define version control, change management, and deployment strategies across development teams. 

  • Own the Salesforce release calendar, manage code promotions, and coordinate environment refreshes. 

  • Integrate automated testing, static code analysis, and rollback procedures into the DevOps pipeline. 

  • Troubleshoot deployment issues, failed jobs, and infrastructure outages.  

  • Platform Operations 

  • Drive optimization and maintain high availability, performance, and scalability of the platform. 

  • Ensure proactive monitoring, platform health reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Build and maintain process automation for development, testing, and deployment activities.  

  • Monitoring, Performance and Security 

  • Leverage Salesforce Shield for field audit tracking, encryption at rest, and event monitoring. 

  •  Implement and maintain automated backup and recovery strategies using OwnBackup or equivalent tools. 

  • Define platform data protection policies and manage secure access protocols, including MFA and IP restrictions. 

  • Lead user access management, license allocation, and security permissions across Salesforce orgs. 

  • Regularly review security logs, monitor anomalies, and ensure incident readiness in collaboration with InfoSec. 

  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance with ITGC, SOX  and other regulatory frameworks. 

  • Manage platform-level integrations and enforce data privacy and cybersecurity standards.  

  • Cross-Functional Leadership 

  • Partner with Product Owners, Admins, Developers, QA, and Business stakeholders to align technical execution with business needs. 

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Salesforce administrators and developers. 

  • Work with extended team offshore to manage platform and DevOps work. 

  • Act as a liaison to IT security, compliance, infrastructure, and third-party vendors. 

 

Position Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • 7+ years of Salesforce platform experience with at least 3+ years in DevOps or Release Management. 

  • Strong expertise in Salesforce ecosystem: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, Experience Cloud, and integrations. 

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools: Copado, AutoRABIT, Gearset, Jenkins, Git. 

  • Proven hands-on experience with Salesforce Shield, Own Backup and enterprise-grade backup and recovery frameworks. 

  • Deep understanding of metadata API, Salesforce DX, and deployment mechanics. 

  • Proven track record of managing governance, licensing, and platform strategy. 

  • Salesforce certifications preferred: Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, DevOps Specialist.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Agile delivery frameworks and ITIL practices. 

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and change management skills. 

  • Comfortable managing in complex enterprise or multi-org environments. 

  • Familiarity with data integration tools (MuleSoft/Boomi/Workato) and CI/CD best practices. 

Salary: $140K - $185K + Bonus
