Lead a team of engineers to develop innovative storage products, shaping product strategy, ensuring engineering goals, and managing team performance.
Available Locations: Austin, TX | Seattle, WA | London, UK About the Team: R2
R2 is Cloudflare's object storage platform and one of the fastest-growing products in the company's history. The Gateway team owns the surface area that developers interact with: the S3-compatible API, Workers bindings, data migration tools, public buckets, custom domains, event notifications, and the tooling that ties it all together. R2 is experiencing explosive growth with some of the most demanding workloads on the internet, and there is still a lot to build. If a developer touches R2, they're touching code the Gateway team wrote.
What You'll Do
As the Engineering Manager for the R2 Gateway team, you will own the developer experience of R2. You will lead and grow the team, setting technical direction and hiring to expand. Your team is responsible for a wide surface area, from API compatibility and Workers integration to data migration and custom domains, and you'll thrive on navigating across these domains. You will be the face of R2 for developers: engaging with customers in chat, joining calls with R2's largest accounts, writing blog posts, and often being the go-to person for internal teams building on R2. You will drive a roadmap that balances feature delivery with the reliability and performance work that keeps R2 trustworthy, shipping features that leverage Cloudflare's global network in ways other object stores cannot.
Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare's equity plan.
