  • Partner cross-functionally with Product and Design to define roadmaps, deliver high-impact features, and iterate quickly
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement through compassionate candor and clear feedback
  • Champion engineering excellence: reliability, performance, observability, and automation across services and web applications
  • Own SLAs/SLOs for key Order Management APIs and workflows, driving adoption of best practices across dependent systems
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis with a focus on learning and prevention
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap, balancing product innovation with system health and technical debt reduction

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring, performance, and career development
  • 9+ years of overall software engineering experience with a track record of delivering complex, scalable systems
  • Strong backend technical foundation (Python, Go, Java, or Ruby) and familiarity with modern frameworks (e.g., Django, FastAPI)
  • Proven experience designing, integrating, and maintaining APIs (REST, gRPC, SOAP)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams and disciplines
  • Deep customer empathy and a focus on delivering measurable value to merchants
  • Experience leading teams through both technical execution and organizational change

Bonus

  • Familiarity with React.js and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB)
