Why This Role Matters:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager, DevOps & Reliability to lead our DevOps SRE team. This person will be responsible for the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-native systems, and will help shape the engineering culture and technical strategy for infrastructure at Gainbridge.
You will oversee a team of SREs and DevOps engineers, partner with cross-functional engineering leaders, and drive operational excellence across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and observability practices. This is a critical leadership role with both strategic and technical influence, directly supporting the reliability of our platform and the productivity of our engineering teams.
How You'll Contribute:
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of DevOps and SRE engineers responsible for infrastructure, reliability, and cloud operations.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems deployed on AWS using Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Champion modern DevOps and SRE practices across engineering, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to set SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets, ensuring reliable delivery of customer-facing products.
- Drive incident management process including root cause analysis, blameless postmortems, and follow-through on corrective actions.
- Partner closely with Security and Compliance to meet rigorous security and regulatory standards for our infrastructure and operations.
- Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and career development support for direct reports.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical management or leadership role.
- Proven success leading and scaling platform engineering or SRE teams in a cloud-first, production-critical environment.
- Deep experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling such as ArgoCD.
- Experience building automation pipelines using Argo Workflows or similar tools.
- Strong background in observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Track record of designing systems for reliability and scale in regulated or enterprise environments—experience in financial services is a plus.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $180,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $250,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors such as market location, job-related skills, and experience.
