As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We’re also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

At CrowdStrike, we stop breaches. We’re here to protect data, systems, technology – and, most importantly, the people they serve. Our cloud-based security is the first line of defense for the data we safeguard, and we are proud of that. Because we know how important our software is, we work fiercely to make sure that what we create works for everyone who needs it, every time.

We believe in one team, one fight, and our everyday work reflects that – our teams respect every member, and the people we work with care about the product and each other. We also understand that life is just as important as work, and treat time off and flexibility accordingly. We trust you to get the job done without having someone looking over your shoulder.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide technical leadership on complex problems and actively participate in architecture design, code reviews, and implementation of critical system components

  • Build and develop a high-performing team of software engineers to implement new features and enhance existing features which help detect cyber attacks

  • Work closely with product managers and engineering leaders across product groups to understand requirements, navigate complex organizational dependencies, and drive alignment across multiple teams

  • Drive technical initiatives around service resiliency, including automatic retry mechanisms, dead-letter queue handling, graceful degradation patterns, and incident response

  • Balance feature delivery against engineering priorities including resiliency improvements, technical debt reduction, and service quality initiatives

  • Provide mentorship and coaching opportunities to engineers to enable personal and career growth which benefits both the individual and the team

  • Champion engineering best practices including appropriate testing paradigms, effective peer code reviews, comprehensive logging and monitoring, and resilient architecture patterns

  • Provide monitoring and operational support for production services including incident management, root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures

What You’ll Need:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle with demonstrated ability to remain technically hands-on

  • 2+ years of hands-on management experience with demonstrated track record of leading strong engineering teams

  • Strong programming proficiency in Go, Java, or Python with proven ability to design and implement production-grade microservices

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts including event-driven architectures, message queuing, eventual consistency patterns, and API development

  • Proven track record of building highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems that handle high-throughput data processing (millions+ events/queries per day)

  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and shipping high-quality software to production

  • Strong resource planning and prioritization skills with ability to make difficult decisions between competing initiatives (features vs. resiliency vs. technical debt)

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical tradeoffs and timelines clearly across all organizational levels

  • Strong collaboration skills working across engineering, product management, support, and sales engineering teams

  • Ability to attract and hire talent and grow the team rapidly

  • Customer-focused mindset with initiative to proactively identify and fix issues

  • Computer science degree or commensurate experience

Bonus Points

  • MS in Computer Science or related field

  • Experience with scalable microservices architectures using AWS, Kafka, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Grafana

  • Experience with detection systems or real-time analytics systems

  • Experience with government cloud environments (e.g. FedRAMP) and compliance requirements

  • Experience in or working with cybersecurity or intelligence fields
