About The Role
- Lead and scale our AI R&D group, managing multidisciplinary teams of managers and engineers and researchers working on our AI platform and products, including AI blocks, Digital workforce, and core infrastructure (semantic search, model selection, RAG pipelines).
- Drive the vision and execution of monday.com's AI platform architecture, ensuring it supports our growing suite of AI capabilities while maintaining the performance, reliability, and scalability our customers expect.
- Own the technical strategy for critical AI infrastructure components including RAG systems, ML Ops pipelines, agent frameworks, and model orchestration, ensuring these systems can handle the increasing complexity and scale of AI workloads.
- Foster innovation while maintaining production standards, working closely with AI engineering teams to ship features that directly impact how our users leverage AI in their daily workflows.
- Build and nurture high-performing teams, establishing engineering excellence through best practices in AI/ML development, testing, and deployment while promoting a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with product, research, and other R&D groups to align AI infrastructure investments with the company's strategic objectives and customer needs.
- Lead architectural decisions for AI systems that process millions of requests daily, ensuring robust performance, cost efficiency, and seamless integration with monday.com's existing platform.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 3+ years leading AI/ML managers & engineering teams that have successfully shipped and maintained production AI applications - must
- Proven track record of building and scaling AI infrastructure components such as RAG systems, ML Ops pipelines, agent orchestration frameworks, or semantic search engines in production environments - must
- Deep technical expertise in modern AI/ML architectures, including experience with LLMs, embedding models, vector databases, and distributed AI systems
- Strong background in building scalable systems, with hands-on experience in cloud platforms, microservices, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and retain top AI engineering talent while building inclusive, high-performing teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex AI concepts to diverse stakeholders and drive alignment across technical and non-technical teams
- Track record of balancing innovation with pragmatism, shipping cutting-edge AI features while maintaining system reliability and performance
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field; PhD is a plus
