NBCUniversal is looking for an Engineer, Production Technology in the Production Engineering group for NBCUniversal's Operations and Technology (O&T) segment, based at the Telemundo Center facility in Miami, FL. O&T supports Enterprise Technology, Broadcast, and Production systems across NBCU globally.
The Production Engineer is responsible for providing best-in-class live television production support for NBCUniversal, supporting live and scripted/unscripted productions. This position will also support the Projects team to implement changes, enhancements, and support technology refresh projects and other business initiatives.

The Production Engineer is responsible for providing best-in-class live television production support for NBCUniversal, supporting live and scripted/unscripted productions. This position will also support the Projects team to implement changes, enhancements, and support technology refresh projects and other business initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Become a subject matter expert on production workflows.
- Provide technical support and support maintenance of a live broadcast production environment consisting of multiple studios and production control rooms.
- Support virtualization and cloud initiatives, continuing deployment of virtual production systems both on-premise and in the cloud.
- Resolve support requests, monitor ticketing systems for new issues and assigned tasks, and performing preventative maintenance as assigned.
- Collaborate with other members of the engineering and technical teams in executing projects, including working with internal stakeholders to create and update configuration documentation, technical SOP's, training materials, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Technology, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience deploying and supporting broadcast technology, including graphics systems, replay systems, and other production infrastructure (video switchers, audio mixers, etc.).
- Understanding of 2110, AES67, NDI, SRT, RTMP, and other video and audio streaming formats.
- Familiarity with system-level troubleshooting of Windows or Linux operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented and resourceful with a desire to learn.
- Ability to provide clear, decisive feedback while being prepared to pivot or change course when appropriate.
- Video and audio signal flow troubleshooting experience.
- Network or IT-related troubleshooting and familiarity with tools like Puppet, Wireshark, PowerShell
- Experience evaluating new products or technologies and making recommendations for implementation
