About the Position:

The Analyst or Associate of Energy Strategy reports to the Senior Director of Energy Strategy, supporting the development and execution of Cologix’s energy strategy in key markets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team with a big mission in a rapidly growing industry. The role is uniquely positioned to drive innovation and collaboration across the data center and energy sectors and deliver on energy initiatives to meet Cologix’s aggressive near and long-term growth plans.

The ideal candidate will bring energy industry experience coupled with innovative thinking and passion to position Cologix to lead the data center industry in solving energy challenges. This role will combine both strategy and execution to realize our business goals, working collaboratively across multiple teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports Energy Strategy team in overall strategy development and execution with a focus on our key US and Canadian markets.
  • Independently drives research and analysis related to evolving power costs, power availability, behind-the-meter generation, and data center utility rates.
  • Builds and maintains datasets aggregating energy usage, cost, and contractual data across our footprint.
  • Supports project management across the team, including maintaining trackers, flagging key deadlines and milestones, and drafting executive updates.
  • Tracks key industry trends and headlines and synthesizes executive updates.
  • Supports technology assessments and partner selections for strategy development and execution of key energy projects.
  • Supports evaluation of potential land acquisition and M&A opportunities from a power perspective.
  • Supports the development of board presentations and data and analytics to inform strategic business decisions.

     What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or energy related discipline.
  • 3-5 years work experience in power & utilities, either in-house or in a consulting or supplier capacity.
  • Experience with utility rates, regulation, and processes.
  • Deep understanding of the US and Canadian regulated and de-regulated energy markets.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and execute in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team.
  • Proficient in developing executive and board level presentations and communications.
  • Proficient in data and analytics to drive business decisions and present information to different audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skills.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Broad network of utility, OEM and EPC relationships and participation in industry groups/events.
  • Experience negotiating and managing energy contracts.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to execute complex energy projects.
  • Familiarity with electric distribution design & operations.

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.

Salary Range
$100,000$140,000 USD
