Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our growing team in Greenville, SC.

Responsible for providing continuous service to all employee benefits lines new and existing clients and assisting the Producer in retention of business. Through servicing, develop a thorough knowledge of the accounts, becoming a liaison between the insured, the Strategic Account Executive and/or Producer, or other departments within the agency and the carriers. Handles annual events relating to a block of clients; including contracting, open enrollment, etc.

How You Will Contribute

  • Build, expand and solidify relationships with a book of clients at all levels within the company and lead appropriate resources to address the client’s needs.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounts. Assist clients with general service and claims issues.

  • Provide documentation and guidance to client employees regarding group medical, prescription drug, dental, vision and FSA programs, COBRA, Healthcare Reform, Federal and State Mandates and other related employee benefit topics.

  • Promote a commitment to achieve or exceed internal and external performance standards

  • Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new produce development, legislation, coverages and technology, including professional development and continuing education required for valid licensing

  • Sit on Member Advocate line as needed

  • Provide administrative training for clients with the direction of the Team Lead

  • Maintain client data and activities in BenefitPoint and save all applicable documentation in ImageRight • Ensure all required processes and procedures are followed correctly, including Insurance Operations (IO) requirements

  • Assist Strategic Account Executive and/or Producers in retention of business by providing continuous daily service to our clients

  • Pursue a course of personal and professional development

  • Manage the annual renewal process, executing the strategies defined by the Strategic Account Executive or Producer.

  • Prepare and submit complete, accurate employer applications and new case submissions

  • Prepare accurate, understandable employee communication materials and videos

  • Run Open Enrollment meetings, explaining benefits to client’s employees

  • Document renewal, sales and insurance operations compliance documents into the sales management database

  • Prepare pre-renewal questionnaires/meetings, mid-year reviews and stewardship reporting, and compliance requirements such as 5500 reporting and plan document updates, per the department procedures and timelines.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Life and Health Insurance License through the State of SC or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • 1-2 years’ experience in insurance industry, human resources or a related field

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a business or employee benefits related discipline (preferred)

  • 2-4 years of experience in employee benefit (preferred)
