This role focuses on the design and production of electrical systems supporting complex facilities across a wide range of sectors, including airports, transit stations and hubs, libraries, museums, schools, recreation centers, data centers, and other public or institutional buildings.
The position is well suited for an engineer with approximately 8–12 years of experience or a newly licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who is looking to deepen their technical design expertise and contribute meaningfully to the delivery of high-quality electrical systems for major infrastructure and civic projects.
This is a hands-on design role, with strong emphasis on developing construction drawings, performing electrical calculations, and supporting the delivery of coordinated multidisciplinary designs.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform detailed electrical design for low-voltage building power systems, supporting a variety of complex facility projects.

  • Produce and maintain high-quality construction drawings and documentation using industry-standard design tools.

  • Perform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, and system coordination.

  • Conduct lighting design and photometric analysis to support functional and energy-efficient facility environments.

  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines within multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Support design reviews and technical documentation preparation throughout project development.

  • Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction support activities as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Approximately 8–12 years of relevant experience designing electrical systems for building or facility environments.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or close to obtaining licensure.

  • Strong experience with low-voltage building power distribution systems.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and documentation.

  • Experience using AGi32 for lighting calculations and photometric analysis.

  • Working knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical design standards.

  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Highly Desirable Expertise:

  • Experience using Bentley MicroStation OpenBuildings Designer.

  • Experience supporting electrical design for large or complex facilities, such as airports, transit facilities, data centers, or institutional buildings.

  • Familiarity with public-sector infrastructure projects.

Why Join Us?

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile facility and infrastructure projects across New York City, contributing directly to the design of electrical systems that support essential public spaces and operations.
