Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the MEP Hospitality & Entertainment team, based in Raleigh, NC


What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • CAD proficient in converting engineer’s markups into working CAD drawings
  • Plot drawings for review by engineer
  • Prepare CAD floor plans showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, equipment, etc.
  • Perform calculations using Powertools for available fault current and implement proper AIC ratings of equipment with input from engineers
  • Prepare one-line diagrams with input from engineers
  • Prepare electrical loads and develop panel schedules with input from engineers
  • Layout fire alarm devices on floor plans with input from engineers
  • Layout lighting fixtures on plans and demonstrate fundamental knowledge of lighting concepts
  • Understands and correctly applies concepts of emergency and normal power systems
  • Coordinate device locations, loads, and circuitry with other disciplines
  • Develop knowledge of the NEC and other codes
  • Perform lighting calculations and develop models using a lighting photometric program such as Visual or LightPro
  • Layout equipment rooms with input from engineers

What your experience looks like

  • Engineering Degree required (BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree)
  • 0-2 years’ experience required
  • EIT License (Engineer in training)
