Own CRO and website performance across Shopify DTC clients: run CRO audits, design and execute A/B tests, improve site speed/Core Web Vitals, manage GA4 tracking, deliver monthly performance reports, and coordinate QA, roadmaps, and implementation with designers, developers, and client teams to drive measurable revenue growth.
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Website Performance & CRO Manager to own conversion performance across our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) client portfolio.
In this role, you will be responsible for improving website conversion rates, optimizing user experience, maintaining website performance standards, and driving measurable revenue growth for Shopify-based brands. You will proactively identify opportunities, develop optimization strategies, execute experiments, and translate data into actionable business decisions.
This is not a task-execution role. We are looking for someone who can independently identify what needs to be optimized, prioritize initiatives based on business impact, and connect every website improvement to measurable performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- CRO & Conversion Ownership
- Conduct comprehensive CRO audits to identify user friction, conversion barriers, and revenue opportunities.
- Develop, prioritize, and execute A/B tests across homepages, product detail pages (PDPs), collection pages, landing pages, and checkout experiences.
- Analyze customer behavior using heatmaps, session recordings, funnel analysis, and behavioral analytics tools.
- Create hypotheses based on quantitative and qualitative data and validate them through structured experimentation.
- Deliver clear optimization recommendations supported by data and expected business impact.
- Provide wireframes, mockups, and implementation guidance to designers and developers.
- Website Performance Management
- Monitor and improve website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall site performance across all assigned client accounts.
- Ensure websites meet performance benchmarks while maintaining a seamless user experience.
- Coordinate and oversee quality assurance (QA) processes before launches, deployments, and website updates.
- Identify technical issues and performance risks within one business day of detection.
- Escalate unresolved blockers promptly to maintain project momentum and client performance goals.
- Analytics & Reporting
- Own GA4 implementation, tracking accuracy, and reporting across client websites.
- Analyze Shopify and GA4 data to identify opportunities, trends, and performance gaps.
- Establish performance baselines for new client accounts within 30 days of onboarding.
- Deliver monthly performance reports that connect optimization initiatives to conversion rate, average order value (AOV), and revenue impact.
- Provide actionable insights rather than simply reporting metrics.
- Client Portfolio Support
- Manage multiple website optimization initiatives across a portfolio of DTC clients.
- Develop and maintain rolling 30/60/90-day optimization roadmaps for each account.
- Collaborate with DTC Brand Managers to ensure website initiatives support broader business objectives.
- Support client-facing teams with performance insights, recommendations, and deliverables.
- Process Improvement & Documentation
- Create and maintain SOPs for all CRO, analytics, QA, and website performance processes.
- Continuously improve workflows to increase efficiency, scalability, and quality.
- Stay current with CRO, UX, Shopify, analytics, and e-commerce best practices.
Key Performance Indicators
- Conversion rate improvement — measurable CVR lift per client site tracked month over month. Baseline established within 30 days of onboarding.
- A/B test velocity — minimum 2 active tests per client site at all times. Every test has a documented hypothesis, success metric, and post-test outcome.
- Google PageSpeed score — ≥80 on mobile and desktop across all active client sites, maintained continuously.
- Revenue-attributed reporting — at least 1 documented report per client per month connecting site changes to CVR, AOV, or revenue movement.
- Project delivery rate — ≥90% of website projects delivered on time with completed QA documentation. Zero launches without sign-off.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in CRO, website performance, UX optimization, or DTC e-commerce.
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify, including product pages, themes, site structure, and conversion optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
- Experience using Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar behavioral analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated success running A/B tests and translating results into measurable business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of conversion funnels, user behavior, and customer journey optimization.
- Experience managing multiple client accounts or projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Agency experience or experience supporting multiple brands is highly preferred.
- A dual-monitor setup is required (at least 8GB of RAM)
- Must have at least 25 MBPS internet speed
Benefits
- 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day
- Competitive salary base
- Permanent WFH setup
- Unlimited FREE access to MAG School courses and SOP Library!
- Work schedule is in EST (Monday-Friday only
- Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
