As a Drafter for Fiberon Decking, you will specialize in operations jigs, templates, and fixtures as well as tool design drafting. You will create custom drawings using 2D AutoCAD to meet expectations. The drawings will then be used for project layout, fabrication, and machining. You will also be partially responsible for system management and measurement management of dies, screws, tolls, etc.

YOUR ROLE:

• Develop accurate and detailed submittal drawings and fabrication packages that will be utilized for layout and fabrication
• Review engineering specifications to ensure that project information is drafted accurately and in a timely manner in accordance to engineering requirements
• Identify, locate and update all appropriate product information related to the standard configurations and/or company standards for production
• Make suggestions for possible design and product improvements
• Update standard details as improvements are identified
• Support MES development and tracking.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-year degree in architectural design, mechanical design or similar field
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar (2D and/or 3D); if background is in software other than AutoCAD, candidates must have a basic understanding of AutoCAD functions
• Knowledge of Excel
• Knowledge of 3D printing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4-year degree in mechanical design or similar field – Engineering preferred.
• Experience in a related drafting position
• MES / Java / Python exp.
