The Documentation Manager is a highly skilled and versatile professional to take on the combined responsibilities of Technical Writer, Configuration/Documentation Manager for our financially sensitive time and attendance application. In this role, you will be responsible for managing configuration processes, creating comprehensive technical documentation, and ensuring effective documentation management. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in configuration management, technical writing, and documentation management, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. The CM will contribute to the success of the SLDCADA program by effectively managing configurations, creating accurate technical documentation, and ensuring seamless documentation management. Primary responsibilities include:
Technical Writing: Create comprehensive technical documentation for the time and attendance application, including user manuals, installation guides, and system administration guides. Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and understand the application's functionality and features. Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise written materials. Organize and structure documentation for ease of use and reference. Maintain documentation accuracy by updating it with new features, changes, and enhancements.
Documentation Management: Establish and maintain a documentation management system for the time and attendance application. Develop and implement documentation standards, templates, and version control processes. Ensure proper storage, organization, and accessibility of documentation for internal teams and stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, review, and update documentation as needed.
Configuration Management: Develop and implement configuration management processes and procedures for the time and attendance application. Manage and track software and hardware configurations, versions, and changes. Coordinate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth configuration deployments and releases. Ensure compliance with configuration management standards and best practices. Conduct regular audits and reviews to verify the accuracy and integrity of configurations.
Conduct regular quality reviews to ensure documentation consistency, clarity, and completeness.
Change Management: Manage change control processes for the time and attendance application. Evaluate and assess the impact of proposed changes and coordinate their implementation. Collaborate with development and operations teams to plan and execute smooth deployments and releases. Ensure proper documentation and communication of changes to relevant stakeholders. Monitor and manage change requests, ensuring adherence to change management procedures.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and data protection policies relevant to the financial sensitivity of the application. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities or gaps in documentation, configuration, or processes. Implement mitigation measures to address identified risks and ensure application security and integrity. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address audit requirements and maintain compliance.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, project managers, and stakeholders, to gather information and provide documentation support. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify information, and address feedback. Foster strong working relationships with internal teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.
