The Loading Dock Manager plays a critical role in supporting the operational needs of a life sciences and academic research facility. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the loading dock, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing deliveries. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth building operations by managing the loading dock, coordinating schedules, and enforcing safety and compliance standards. The Loading Dock Manager works closely with research staff, procurement, and facilities teams to maintain smooth logistical operations that are essential to the progress of scientific research.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all loading and unloading activities to ensure timely and accurate handling of goods.
Manage and schedule dock personnel to optimize productivity and coverage.
Coordinate with warehouse, transportation, and inventory teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock area in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
Monitor and maintain records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Operate and oversee the use of lift gates, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Coordinate with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) teams to manage chemical and biohazard waste protocols.
Address and resolve any issues related to the loading dock operation

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
