Location: Washington, DC preferred. Our in-office DC team comes together to collaborate in our Dupont Circle office Tuesday through Thursday and works from home Monday and Friday.

Your Mission:
Your mission is to shape and lead the strategic direction of our Electric Vehicle procurement and vehicle upfitting function. You will own the development, expansion, and optimization of procurement strategies and processes, positioning our organization to serve the industry and be recognized as the leading Fleet Management Company in EV Vehicle Procurement. This role requires you to strategically direct engagement and communication with key external stakeholders—including Manufacturers (OEMs), Dealer Groups, and Industry Upfitters—ensuring our complex EV car and truck requirements are clearly understood and effectively met. In close collaboration with our Sales and Customer Success leaders, you will interact with and devise compelling solutions for customers, translate market demand into actionable procurement plans, guide industry interactions and orchestrate a cohesive, optimized approach across critical variables: supply, upfitting, compliance, timing, and vehicle pricing.
You will be reporting into Neil Schamus, EVP of Fleet Operations.

What You’ll Be Responsible for In Your Role:
- Lead and manage a Procurement team responsible for all EV Cars and Trucks procurement strategies and activities including sourcing, ordering and upfitting, while positioning the team for future growth.
- Interview, source and build strategic long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers,inclusive of OEMs, Dealers, and truck upfitting providers and solutions
- Lead the effort around rigorous pricing negotiations with vendors & suppliers on vehicles and upfits, ensuring that we maximize discounts and rebates on our customer’s behalf
- Collaborate with internal colleagues to provide guidance to existing prospects and customers on truck procurement, upfitting options and requirements, and design needs
- Capture and deliver comprehensive information, data and metrics related to Inspiration's Car and Truck fleet, making it accessible for cross-team consumption and in support of continuous improvement efforts. This includes reports, analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Partner closely with the Director of Fleet Operations, to build a cohesive strategy that will streamline efficiencies and support company objectives.
Who You Are:
- You have a minimum 10 years of work experience, with 8 years of combined car and truck procurement for leased fleets, and are fluent in the pricing terms that support the purchase of Cars and Trucks through an OEM or Dealer and vehicle upfitters
- You are customer-focused, attuned to and insightful about their needs, and have exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- You possess strong negotiation skills, specifically when navigating through multiple vehicle procurement channels,sources and the upfitting process
- You have current knowledge of the regulations governing truck fleet compliance
- You are very attentive to detail, enjoy building and iterating processes while leveraging and reinforcing the importance of data integrity By understanding the company’s primary goals and objectives, you look for ways to leverage data from your function, to support those missions
- You excel in a role that requires both high-level strategic thinking and hands-on execution, working collaboratively with the team
