Director, Talent Development 

We are seeking a Director, Talent Development to lead the design, execution, and scale of learning and talent development programs across AHEAD. This role will serve as the enterprise lead for Learning & Development, with dedicated partnership to AHEAD Consulting and Services (ACS)—our largest and fastest-growing business unit. The ideal candidate brings strong learning expertise, a systems-thinking mindset, and the leadership skills to elevate a small but mighty team into a high-impact function. 

Responsibilities

  • Talent Development Strategy & Leadership 
  • Set the L&D Vision: Lead the enterprise-wide learning and development strategy aligned to AHEAD's IMPACT 2027 vision, enabling business capability and employee growth. 
  • Manage & Coach the L&D Team: Lead and develop a high-performing team including a Sr. Manager, LMS Administrator, Trainer, and Instructional Designer. Provide strategic direction, capacity planning, and team coaching. 
  • Build Scalable Infrastructure: Oversee the evolution of AHEAD's L&D systems, including LMS governance, vendor partnerships, digital learning platforms, and content strategy. 
  • Ensure Program Excellence: Establish a consistent and repeatable approach to L&D program design, implementation, and evaluation that meets the needs of a diverse, hybrid workforce. 

  • ACS Partnership & Program Ownership 
  • Lead L&D for ACS: Serve as the strategic learning partner to ACS leadership. Translate business needs into tailored development strategies that support performance, delivery excellence, and talent readiness. 
  • Own AHEAD Consulting University (ACU): Design and launch this flagship learning initiative to support onboarding, technical skills, power skills, and leadership readiness within ACS. 
  • Consult on Enablement: Partner with ACS operations and delivery leads to ensure learning is embedded into daily workflows, enabling a culture of continuous development.

  • Are conscientious about the quality and rigor of your deliverables. 

  • Skills / Abilities 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Organizational Development.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing and developing teams; experience leading through others and building high-impact L&D functions.
  • Deep expertise in adult learning, instructional design, learning operations, and program evaluation 
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to consult, influence, and build trust with senior leaders.
  • Experience designing and implementing high-potential or leadership development programs.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools (LMS, Articulate, Rise), vendor management, and change enablement.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
