This is a critical leadership role supporting the Products organization at Calix. As the Director, Talent & Culture Business Partner, you will serve as a strategic advisor to senior Product leaders, shaping the people strategy required to enable innovation, scalability, and business growth.

You will operate at the intersection of business strategy, organizational design, and talent, helping leaders anticipate future capability needs, evolve operating models, and build high-performing, engaged teams.

This role is also a key driver of Calix’s AI-led transformation—leveraging data, analytics, and AI-powered insights to move beyond reactive HR and proactively guide leadership decisions with precision and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Product leaders, aligning talent and culture strategies to business priorities
    • Influence executive decision-making on org design, workforce strategy, and capability building
  • Organizational Design & Effectiveness
    • Lead organizational design initiatives, role clarity, and operating model evolution
    • Ensure organizational health, scalability, and alignment to product innovation goals
  • Workforce & Talent Strategy
    • Drive strategic workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership capability development
    • Partner across Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, Talent Engagement, and People Operations to deliver an integrated talent strategy
  • Data, AI, and Insights-Driven Leadership
    • Leverage AI-powered tools and analytics to identify trends in hiring, performance, retention, and engagement
    • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leaders
    • Shift leadership conversations from reactive reporting to forward-looking, predictive decision-making
  • Change Leadership
    • Lead complex, large-scale change initiatives within the Products organization
    • Enable leaders to navigate transformation with clarity, speed, and strong employee experience
  • Talent & Performance
    • Shape talent strategies that elevate performance, strengthen leadership capability, and accelerate growth
    • Coach senior leaders on performance, engagement, and team effectiveness
  • Culture & Employee Experience
    • Champion a high-performance, inclusive, and transparent culture aligned with Calix values
    • Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organizational health

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field
  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant HR Business Partner leadership experience
  • 5+ years experience partnering with Product, Engineering, or technical organizations in a high-tech, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and operate as a strategic advisor
  • Deep expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy
  • Strong AI fluency, including:
    • Proven experience leveraging AI tools and platforms to transform the workforce
    • Previous experience interpreting data and analytics to drive workforce insights to make data informed decisions
    • Previous experience using AI to automate, scale, and transform HR processes
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategy to business outcomes
  • Excellent executive communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SaaS, cloud, or technology product environments
  • Experience leading transformation or operating model evolution at scale
  • Familiarity with advanced people analytics platforms and AI-enabled HR technologies

The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

San Francisco Bay Area:

184,000 - 294,400 USD Annual

Select US Metros and States:

160,000 - 256,000 USD Annual

Other US Locations:

144,000 - 230,400 USD Annual
