Description
We’ve Built a Rocketship. Now We Need a World-Class Operator to Help Fly It.

Freebird is a 9-figure, founder-led consumer brand that’s scaled fast through performance marketing, subscriptions, and relentless execution. With over 1 million customers and momentum across DTC, retail, marketplaces, and international expansion, we’ve proven product-market fit. But now, we’re building the systems, team, and operating discipline to scale into a global, omnichannel powerhouse.

We’re looking for a Director of Strategy & BizOps to help architect, organize, and operate that next chapter.

This person will be the right hand to the COO and a trusted partner to the CEO — a strategic operator who can organize chaos, solve complex problems, drive high-leverage execution, and build the machine that runs Freebird at scale.

If you're a former consultant turned startup operator who thrives on turning vision into clarity and systems into outcomes, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Own1. Build & Enforce a Scalable Operating System
  • Architect the frameworks, systems, and rhythms that power execution across the business: scorecards, SOPs, dashboards, OKRs, cadences
  • Own how the company operates — from meetings to metrics to execution flows
  • Ensure we move fast and in sync — without burning out or breaking
2. Support Strategic Planning & Business Strategy
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to define quarterly and annual goals, prioritize initiatives, and resource strategic projects
  • Shape the cross-functional roadmap across DTC, Amazon, retail, international, and new product launches
  • Ensure the company’s strategy is actionable, aligned, and deeply understood across all teams
3. Drive Execution & Solve Problems
  • Take key initiatives from idea to execution — with speed, structure, and measurable outcomes
  • Own the playbook for getting things done across Freebird: clear project plans, aligned teams, tight feedback loops
  • Step into ambiguous challenges, break them down, and drive forward progress
4. Act as the Right Hand to the COO
  • Support the COO in managing priorities, aligning departments, and solving cross-functional blockers
  • Drive clarity and accountability across all operational workstreams
  • Amplify the COO’s impact by owning operational layers of the business — so they can focus on high-leverage leadership
5. Improve Collaboration & Cross-Team Clarity
  • Keep teams aligned around what matters most — with clear context, roles, and responsibilities
  • Ensure departments are synced, projects are tracked, and leaders are empowered to lead
  • Act as the integrator that connects marketing, product, creative, ops, and more
6. Lead Project & Process Management
  • Own company-wide project tracking and visibility — no dropped balls, no black boxes
  • Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and redesign workflows to scale smoothly
  • Make it easier for the team to execute — through better tools, documentation, and habits
7. Support Hiring, Onboarding & Team Structure
  • Help define org structure, identify hiring needs, and support recruitment for key roles
  • Build fast, effective onboarding systems that help new hires ramp quickly
  • Define role clarity, team charters, and performance standards across functions
8. Bridge Vision & Reality
  • Catch visionary ideas from the CEO and COO, map out what success looks like, and ensure they’re executed cleanly
  • Translate strategic goals into tactical action — and own follow-through
  • Keep the business grounded, focused, and always moving forward
Requirements
  • Strategic problem-solver with a strong foundation in structured thinking — often gained through consulting, strategic operations, or chief-of-staff-style roles
  • 3–7+ years of experience in a high-growth startup, scale-up, or entrepreneurial environment — ideally in DTC, CPG, or eCommerce
  • Proven ability to build and implement systems that drive execution: scorecards, operating cadences, project workflows, SOPs, etc.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution — with a track record of creating clarity and driving results
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills — you keep teams aligned, priorities clear, and execution moving
  • Known for bringing structure to chaos — able to solve ambiguous, multi-dimensional problems across teams and functions
  • High EQ and excellent communicator — comfortable working across all levels, from team leads to founders
  • Operates with urgency, ownership, and a “figure it out” mentality — thrives in high-speed, high-autonomy environments
  • Long-term leadership potential with the drive to grow into a COO-level role over time
Bonus Experience
  • Experience in DTC, eCommerce, CPG, or subscription-based consumer businesses
  • Exposure to performance marketing organizations or media-driven customer acquisition
  • Supported omnichannel growth — including Amazon, retail, or international expansion
  • Familiarity with EOS, OKRs, Asana, Notion, or other execution frameworks
  • Experience with hiring, onboarding, and building lean, high-output teams
  • Background in top-tier consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG) is a plus — especially when paired with startup operating experience
Benefits
  • Remote-first & flexible — Work from anywhere with autonomy and trust
  • Competitive comp + performance bonus — Earn based on your impact
  • Executive growth path — Built to scale into a COO-level role
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance — Full health coverage for you and your family
  • 401(k) with company match — Plan for the long term
  • Unlimited PTO — Recharge when needed, no counting days
  • Founder access — Work directly with the CEO & COO on high-impact initiatives
  • No politics, just execution — Fast-moving, high-ownership, results-driven culture
  • Make your mark — Help scale a 9-figure brand on the verge of global breakout
