The Director, Strategic Account Management creates and delivers a strategic customer growth vision that drives predictable long-term value for our customers and transformational opportunities for Availity at scale. You will directly manage a group of account teams that own anywhere from 3-5 health payers who have contracts with Intelligent Utilization Management Products with up to $100M in ACV. You will be a leader, instilling in your team a growth mindset and hunter mentality by leading through example, executing on playbooks and driving best practices across the line of business and across Availity.
The Director, Strategic Account Management will be a leading force in driving efforts to help our account teams create sustainable growth. The successful candidate will provide strategic thinking and thought leadership the to harness the value of the Intelligent Utilization Management portfolio. They will apply broad technical knowledge, with business acumen to support teams in developing compelling Availity value propositions that align with our customers’ Utilization Management transformation strategies. Furthermore, they will provide competitive and market insights on what products we need to enhance, build, or buy.

To be qualified for this position you:
- 5 years’ experience in managing large (1MM member) health payers.
- Or 5 years’ experience in payer Utilization Management operations or transformation.
- 3+ years in a people leadership role.
- BA or BS in any field plus relevant job-related experience, MBA preferred or equivalent business experience with demonstrated results.
- You have taken strategy to implementation and have a proven ability to define a clear vision and roadmap that is challenging, but achievable and motivating to our clients and associates.
- Possess strong communication and excellent presentation skills.
- Understand financial acumen to drive profitable growth.
- Ability to build trust and approach problems from a curious, ready-to-learn perspective.
- Proven track record in strong change management with the ability to lead a team effectively through ambiguity.
- Work creatively and analytically in a time-limited, problem-solving environment.
- Demonstrate love for technology and keeping up with the rapid advances.

You will be:
- Working with account teams to build compelling vision statements, value-driven strategies, and position Availity as a differentiator.
- Collaborating with sales team members in the IUM portfolio to coordinate growth conversations for new products sales.
- Coordinating with strategic account services to establish effective communication for clients with products outside of IUM portfolio
- Collaborating with accounts and working closely across the company to infuse the mentality of leaning in, new skill sets, and thought leadership to help solve the customer’s need.
- Championing a human-centered, entrepreneurial approach to strategic enterprise transformation within our account teams customers, and partners.
- Anticipating the key decisions and change management needed to make progress, craft governance frameworks, and create the organizational alignment and momentum towards a vision.
- Maintaining a high-level understanding of platform capabilities to advise and inspire teams and customers.
- Seeking out and acting on feedback from clients.
- Creating dashboards per client on utilization, penetration of products, pursuit plans, and win strategies.
- Serving as a role model and a developer of people to continue to grow at Availity.
- Driving revenue and costs forecasts for your line of business.
- Synthesizing insights from account teams, driving thought leadership, and developing recommended actions that will directly impact the growth of our company.
