MKTG Sports + Entertainment is looking for an experienced Director, Sponsorship Consulting to join our team and help drive client satisfaction and growth across a global brand client, with a focus on Formula 1. You will work with clients and partner with teammates to implement global sponsorship marketing strategy, activations, asset management, and measurement. Successful candidates will have direct experience leading integrated teams delivering high-profile brand partnerships and activations on either the brand, agency, or rightsholder side. You will report to the Vice President, Sponsorship Consulting and play a lead role across international agency account teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage global execution of a client’s international sponsorship portfolio, ensuring full use of all available assets

  • Drive partnership strategy, leveraging an in-depth understanding of the property landscape to identify areas of opportunity and optimization for clients

  • Collaborate with an international agency team delivering regional brand programs to support global partnerships

  • Communicate with senior clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and collaboration

  • Oversee relationships with sanctioning bodies and rightsholders to help develop outstanding marketing partnerships

  • Manage teams developing key documents, including activation plans and POVs, to client-ready status

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the full marketing mix, including social media, content marketing, influencer strategies, and promotional campaigns

  • Lead full-service activation campaigns and events from end to end

  • Maintain oversight of all activation programming, including annual and per-event budgeting, in line with internal guidelines

  • Support negotiations with local, national, and global rightsholders on behalf of clients, securing win-win agreements that exceed expectations

  • Travel as required, including some weekends and possibly holidays, depending on client assignments

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in sponsorship consulting, sports marketing, or brand partnerships

  • Direct experience working with Formula One, motorsports, or comparable global sports properties (e.g., Olympics, golf)

  • Experience advising brands, agencies, or teams on sponsorship strategy and activation

  • Proven experience creating and presenting strategic decks to senior client stakeholders

  • Experience leading and mentoring junior team members

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Skills & Competencies:

  • Sponsorship strategy and consulting

  • Knowledge of the Formula One ecosystem and rightsholders

  • Client communication and presentation

  • Strategic storytelling and deck development

  • Cross-functional collaboration

  • Team leadership and coaching

The annual base salary range for this position is $94,875-$126,500. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.  Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

At dentsu, we believe great work happens when we’re connected. Our hybrid way of working combines remote flexibility with regular in-person collaboration to spark ideas and 

strengthen our teams. Many of our employees who live within commuting distance (90 minutes) from one of our Headquarter or Hub Offices (New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles) are required to work in the office 2-3 days per week including one Team Day. The minimum number of days may vary by office and role. Dentsu may designate other HQ or Hub offices at any time. Those who do not live near an office may be designated as a remote employee, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect you to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office from time to time.
