Job DescriptionHer Campus Media is seeking a strategic, innovative, growth-minded, Gen Z-obsessed Director of Social to oversee social strategy, operations, and growth on Her Campus Media social platforms (IG, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, emerging platforms) including Her Campus, Spoon University, and College Fashionista. This role reports directly to the SVP, Content and is responsible for managing the social team and working with them to set and implement vision, strategy, and best practices to drive growth, engagement, and brand perception across all social platforms for all brands. This is a fast-paced role that requires someone entrepreneurial and scrappy who is comfortable managing a lot of moving parts, thinking big-picture as well as digging into the day-to-day, trying new innovative tactics, analyzing data to make optimizations in real-time, and working in a collaborative environment with other departments. The ideal candidate is someone who is a TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube expert and has their finger on the pulse of Gen Z, is passionate about leading a team of social editors, and is excited to step into a cross-brand role overseeing all of social for our portfolio of leading Gen Z brands.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee social across all platforms for Her Campus, College Fashionista, and Spoon University, managing the social team for each brand
In collaboration with social leads, set social vision, strategy, processes, and best practices and work with team to execute on it
Drive significant growth and engagement across platforms, hitting goals and KPIs
Spearhead strategy, development, budgeting, and recruitment for emerging platforms and brands
Analyze social data, prepare reports and insights, and optimize strategy based on the results
Collaborate with editors, branded content team, events team, integrated marketing team to support editorial and branded content, events, and initiatives on social
Ownership of email strategy, execution, optimization, and marketing for HCM audience newsletters
Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion through your work in order to serve our diverse audience and community
Keep your finger on the pulse of social trends and happenings, Gen Z culture, new social platforms, and the competitive landscape

Bachelor’s degree (or other college degree) preferred
7+ years experience working in social media, preferably at a Gen Z/women’s digital media brand
3+ years management experience
Highly adept across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and hungry to take on emerging platforms and formats
Ability to spearhead and create new social franchises across HCM brands
Prior experience starting and building a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or other social accounts from scratch a plus
Specific expertise in overseeing Pinterest and generating traffic from Pinterest a plus
Demonstrated history of hitting and surpassing growth goals
Comfort functioning in an entrepreneurial environment and creating new processes, programs, and initiatives from scratch
Big-picture, strategic thinker who can still operate with rigorous attention to detail
Ability and interest in working collaboratively with other departments including community, events, branded content, integrated marketing, design, and more
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Quick and efficient worker with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to function autonomously and complete projects and tasks without close management and supervision
Self-starter with go-getter attitude, positive and upbeat nature, and excellent work ethic who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty and is excited about working in a start-up environment

Salary Range: $115-130k
Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, experience, and other factors.
