Lead Dropbox's global social media strategy, manage a team, engage with cultural trends, and measure brand impact across platforms.
Role Description
At Dropbox, we believe in the power of thoughtful design and storytelling. We’re looking for a Director of Social Media and Content Strategy to lead how our brand shows up in the world—across platforms, communities, and conversations.
This is more than managing posts. This is about building cultural momentum. It’s about shaping how Dropbox shows up at the intersection of creativity, productivity, and internet culture—especially for the people who are shaping it.
Responsibiities
As Director of Social Media and Content Strategy, you’ll lead strategy and execution across our global channels—from TikTok to LinkedIn, Instagram to Threads. You'll grow a social presence that drives conversation, builds community, and deepens affinity with Dropbox.
You’ll partner across Brand, Communications, Product Marketing, and our in-house creative team to bring brand and product stories to life—through memes, moments, and everything in between.
Set the Vision
- Lead our global social strategy across all major platforms.
- Define how Dropbox shows up in culture—rooted in insight, storytelling, and originality.
- Shape what “on-brand” means in the context of social: smart, creative, timely, and a little unexpected.
Build for Creative Audiences
- Develop programs that speak directly to creators, freelancers, designers, writers, musicians, and other imaginative thinkers.
- Tap into niche communities, emerging platforms, and aesthetic trends that matter to our most expressive users.
- Collaborate with our Brand Studio and external creators to elevate creative storytelling through social-first content.
Put Dropbox in the Conversation
- Lead real-time cultural engagement—memes, newsjacking, platform-specific trends.
- Spot and act on the cultural moments that make Dropbox feel present, relevant, and human.
- Build a POV on how and when we participate in broader social discourse.
Lead the Team
- Manage and grow a team of social strategists, creators, and analysts.
- Partner with agencies and creators to execute and scale content.
- Foster a creative, agile, and high-trust team culture.
Measure What Matters
- Define platform-specific KPIs and track what moves the needle—engagement, sentiment, share of voice, and beyond.
- Turn insights into action: share performance learnings, optimize creative, and inform future strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in social media, brand marketing, or digital communications.
- Proven track record building standout brand presence and engagement across platforms.
- Deep understanding of internet culture, creators, and what makes content click.
- Strategic thinker with a sharp creative instinct—and a bias toward action.
- Experience leading teams, managing agencies, and working cross-functionally.
- Bonus: experience in tech, design tools, or the creator economy.
Why Join Us?
- Shape how a globally loved brand evolves across the most expressive medium of our time.
- Work with a team that values clarity, bold thinking, and humanity.
- Help millions of creative people around the world do their best work
