The Director, SEO leads Lowe's in-house SEO teams to drive discoverability, domain authority, organic traffic and build brand preference through a cohesive search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. This role is responsible for increasing organic traffic and conversions across Lowes.com from both conventional search engines and new AI Search platforms.
Reporting to the Sr. Director, SEO & AI Commerce under the VP of Digital Operations, this role is accountable for increasing visibility, authority and customer experience (thereby visits) through both internal and external content partnerships, coordination with external 3P agencies, Marketing, Product/Tech and Stores teams to build cohesive roadmaps and help establish Lowe's rapidly scale performance in SEO, AEO and GEO. The Director will need to be continuously aware of the fast-changing external search and AI landscape and contribute to building strategy that will help Lowe's leapfrog performance in AI search to attain market leadership in Search and AI Commerce.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of search engine optimization (SEO) professionals, directly managing domestic resources and closely partnering with offshore SEO resources, to deliver organic traffic and revenue performance aligned with enterprise business goals.
- Operate as a strategic connector across marketing, stores, technology and merchandising to align cohesive initiatives and projects that maximize organic traffic and revenue growth both on conventional and AI search surfaces.
- Lead the Content and Experience functional area within SEO, to build and execute a multi-year roadmap for scaling internal content through both internal teams and external content partnerships such as the Creator Network, 3P agencies and external home improvement experts. Explore new avenues and search surfaces for content growth.
- Partner with Marketing team on initiatives related to social platforms for optimizing social content for SEO/GEO
- Lead the local directories functional area and partner with Omnichannel teams to achieve market leadership in local visibility and performance.
- Build and cultivate a high-performing team culture focused on innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, user experience, retail operations, or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 10 years of experience in 2 or more of the following: user experience, creative design, project management, product management, business analysis, program management, retail merchandising, online or product marketing
- 6 years of demonstrated delivery of business results and people leadership
Preferred Skills/Experience
- SEO/GEO experience for large retail businesses in the U.S.
- Content building/optimization experience for large retail businesses in the U.S.
- Master's degree in Business, Business Management, Digital Marketing, SEO, Content Creation and Management, Communications, Computer Science, Tech or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 10+ Years Experience in Digital Marketing or Business-Related work experience
- 8 Years E-commerce Leadership experience
- 8 Years Proven experience leading SEO/SEM team and developing overall search strategy
- 5 Years Experience with web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
- 5 Years Experience leading large teams
- 5 Years Proven track record of delivering qualified search engine traffic
