We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Quality Assurance Engineering to lead and oversee our QA strategy, processes, and team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by implementing robust testing frameworks, driving automation initiatives, and fostering a culture of quality across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a hands on technical background, experience leading both manual and automated QA teams with international members, and a proven track record of building and scaling QA teams in a highly dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive Quality Assurance strategy aligned with ClickUp's current and future state goals
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Define and implement best practices for testing, automation, and quality processes to ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable software products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Development, and DevOps, to integrate quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
Leverage AI-powered testing tools and frameworks to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and accuracy.
Establish and monitor key quality metrics, providing regular reports to stakeholders on product quality and team performance.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA and software testing.
Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships related to QA tools and services.
Advocate for the customer by ensuring that all products meet or exceed user expectations for quality and performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong technical expertise in software testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
Proven experience in implementing and scaling test automation in a CI/CD environment.
Hands-on experience with AI-powered testing tools (e.g., Testim, Applitools, Mabl, or similar) and a strong understanding of their applications in modern QA processes.
Excellent understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and managing both manual and automated QA teams of at least 10 combined members
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with cloud-based platforms, monolithic and microservices architecture, and API testing is a plus.

USA Salary Range (OTE)
$240,000—$290,000 USD
