This senior leadership role will drive insightsoftware's product vision and strategy for our Business Intelligence (BI) and Extended Planning & Analysis (xP&A) Product Pillar, including Fiplana, Power ON and Vizlib. You will be responsible for shaping our product vision, GTM strategy, and roadmap to align with our business objectives and market demands to drive annual recurring revenue and product line growth. This role will define and execute a clear long-term (3+ year) strategic vision for the BI portfolio while ensuring alignment with short-term business priorities. This leader will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring innovation in our BI and xP&A solutions, and will also source new inorganic opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for accelerating the growth of current and future products within the BI ecosystem. They must exude an unrelenting passion for our customer experience, strong financial acumen, and an entrepreneurial spirit, with deep expertise in Qlik or comparable BI platforms. The leader will also represent the company as a thought leader in the BI and analytics community through active participation in industry events and forums.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Align global teams around a clear and compelling product vision, including both short-term deliverables and a long-term strategic roadmap (3+ years) that inspires all key stakeholders within the BI space. Ownership and accountability for the BI product portfolio's roadmap, deliverables, go-to-market strategy, and P&L.
  • Create, lead, and own the value creation plan for BI products for both Power BI and Qlik. Maintain a competitive market overview of the BI landscape to identify white spaces, strategic threats, and opportunities. Actively engage with BI and analytics communities and represent the company at key industry events to strengthen market positioning and thought leadership.
  • Develop business cases for new products, product features, and enhancements that address Office of the CFO (oCFO) needs.
  • Develop trusted relationships with key technology and functional leaders to drive focus on the product strategy and roadmap deliverables.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with marketing, sales, customer success, and services to execute customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Demonstrate a metrics-driven mindset, using and generating thoughtful data analysis to inform decisions that balance the needs of customers.
  • Identify build, buy, and partner opportunities and lead the related acquisition strategy within the BI and xP&A space.
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships within the Qlik and Power BI ecosystems to ensure alignment with evolving customer needs and market trends.
  • Enhance our product strategy by balancing business hypothesis testing and validated learnings with a deep intuition for what is important to our customers.
  • Drive the product development organization in the execution of releases, ensuring we have the greatest of all possible ROIs through appropriately sized launches.
  • Balance tactical execution with investment in innovation and long-term differentiation.
  • Understand market requirements by partnering with key internal stakeholders and go-to-market team.
  • Assess risks and dependencies across all the product and engineering functions and provide guidance to the Business Unit leadership.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:

PRODUCT STRATEGY, VISION, AND PLANNING

  • Pulls from market and competitive insights, customer needs, and internal business priorities to create the product vision for BI and xP&A solutions (target customer segments, markets, channels, go to market approach, and value propositions).
  • Aligns this strategic vision with cross-functional stakeholders to shape product roadmap, investment areas and success measures.
  • Understand the technical architecture of Qlik and other BI platforms, understand the economics of technical investments, e.g., buy vs. build, total cost of ownership "TCO".
  • Ensure clear articulation of product differentiation for both Qlik and Power BI ecosystems and build a long-term strategy for AI and advanced analytics capabilities.

PRODUCT GROWTH AND PROFITABILITY

  • Plans, develops, and manages product P&L (e.g., pricing, marketing budgets, headcount), short- and long-term outcomes and business value of product portfolio including connection to roadmap, objectives and key results, and strategic investments.
  • Lead commercialization strategies for Vizlib and other BI products, including pricing and packaging decisions.
  • Own multi-year financial and strategic planning for the BI portfolio, aligning growth targets with long-term vision.

GO-TO-MARKET ALIGNMENT AND MATRIX MANAGEMENT

  • Manages across channels to define and deliver product performance goals (e.g., revenue, customer experience, etc.).
  • Gathers competitive, customer, market, and internal business priorities to design, develop, and continually optimize digital solutions that drive adoption, engagement, and growth across both digital and human customer interactions.
  • Leverages enterprise platforms and capabilities to improve speed to market and drive both development and ongoing support cost efficiencies.
  • Partner with product marketing managers to achieve product-market fit and support go-to-market strategies for BI and xP&A offerings.

TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Build and lead a high-performing product management team focused on BI and xP&A solutions, providing mentorship, guidance, and support.
  • Build and scale a team of product managers, ensuring alignment across Vizlib, Fiplana, and Power ON under a unified BI strategy.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the product management function.
  • Identify and develop talent, ensuring the team has the skills and resources needed to achieve objectives.

STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success, to ensure alignment and shared objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, providing strategic product insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure smooth operations between product, engineering, support, professional services, and IT to deliver exceptional BI and xP&A solutions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the BI, Analytics, or xP&A space, with specific expertise in Qlik or comparable platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience owning direct P&L responsibility for a product line, business unit or division within a B2B software company.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, computer science, or a related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a product management role, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing software products in the BI, analytics, or financial technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with product management software and related tools.
  • Deep understanding of front-end user experience, customization, and data visualization principles.
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics and enterprise-level BI implementations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with the aptitude for influencing and building consensus among stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a long-term strategic vision while delivering measurable short-term outcomes
  • Proven presence in the BI and analytics community (e.g., speaking engagements, thought leadership, industry forums participation).
