Humana is deeply committed to delivering innovative digital experiences that enhance the quality of life for our consumers and improve how they engage with us. We serve a diverse ecosystem of users – including consumers, members, providers, employers, and brokers – connecting them to Humana and to one another in ways that drive satisfaction, engagement, and business value.

We’re looking for a customer-obsessed, results-driven Director of Product Design to lead the evolution of our digital presence in the agnostic brokerage marketplace. In this role, you’ll reimagine the shopping experience – from awareness to purchase – by identifying opportunities for value creation and delivering innovative, scalable solutions. You’ll champion a startup mindset, foster agile ways of working, and lead the design of differentiated experiences that simplify complex decisions for our customers.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative leader with deep expertise in ecommerce and complex purchase journeys. You’re a strong communicator and systems thinker, comfortable influencing across all levels of the organization and guiding teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

At Humana, the Enterprise Digital Team is a multidisciplinary, experience-led group focused on solving customer needs while enabling strategic and operational goals. As Director of Product Design, you’ll lead a team of product designers while partnering closely with researchers and content strategists to shape the future of our digital experiences – ensuring they are human-centered, accessible, and aligned with business priorities.

You’ll collaborate with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to define and drive experience strategy across multiple portfolios. This role requires deep expertise in ecommerce and complex decision-making journeys, particularly in regulated or high-stakes environments like healthcare. You’ll play a key role in elevating design quality, scaling design practices, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

As Director of Product Design, you will:

  • Lead and develop product designers, fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative design culture.

  • Partner with researchers and content strategists to define and drive a cohesive, end-to-end experience vision across multiple digital initiatives.

  • Translate consumer insights into experience strategies and design direction that meet real user needs and business goals – especially in complex ecommerce journeys like health plan selection.

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment of UX strategy and execution across workstreams.

  • Build trust and consensus with executive stakeholders by using storytelling, user journeys, prototypes, and other UX artifacts to articulate complex concepts and opportunities.

  • Create and evangelize strategic design deliverables such as experience roadmaps, future-state visions, and design principles across the organization.

  • Facilitate interdisciplinary conversations that break down long-term visions into actionable phases.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, accessibility standards, and design systems across all touchpoints.

  • Partner with CX Insights to shape long-term research strategies and ensure continuous discovery and iteration.

  • Collaborate with Content Strategy to evolve navigation, content architecture, and messaging across digital experiences.
