Risepoint assists primarily regional universities in increasing their access and impact by making their academic programs available to students online. Founded in 2007, Risepoint's mission is to expand access to high-quality, affordable, and workforce-relevant education, especially for working and adult students. Risepoint brings single-minded dedication to student success, an integrated set of services, and data-driven performance to our collaboration with university partners.

As Director of Marketing Solutions, you will serve as a strategic operator and hands-on leader, driving high-priority initiatives that improve the student experience, with an initial focus on retention. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys problem-solving, and has the bias for action and operational chops to turn ideas into scalable solutions.

You will report to the Senior Vice President of Marketing Solutions and work across functions—product marketing, call center operations, analytics, and student success teams—to understand pain points, design solutions, and operationalize change. While retention will be a focus area to start, you will be deployed against a variety of opportunities and challenges over time. Your success will be measured by the impact you deliver through initiative ownership, cross-functional execution, and continuous optimization.

You’ll be joining at a pivotal time—with the opportunity to shape foundational work on retention and other high-impact solutions across the student journey. You won’t just make recommendations—you’ll own the outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Retention Strategy: Design and operationalize a multi-faceted retention strategy to reduce student step-outs and increase engagement across the lifecycle.

  • Own Cross-Functional Initiatives: Lead initiatives from concept to implementation—including ideation, hypothesis building, analysis, solution design, pilot testing, scaling, and continuous improvement.

  • Identify & Prioritize Opportunities: Work closely with leadership to identify areas of greatest impact, using a combination of data, customer insights, and business context.

  • Drive Execution: Develop workplans, coordinate across teams, manage timelines, and ensure delivery of measurable results.

  • Measure & Optimize: Establish KPIs, build reporting frameworks, and continuously analyze performance to refine and improve outcomes.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders; align on priorities, gain buy-in, and maintain accountability.

  • Scale Solutions: Document, refine, and scale successful initiatives. Build durable processes, playbooks, and change management strategies.

What You’ll Need For Success

Education: An MBA or master’s degree with STEM designation is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field is required if no master’s degree.

Professional experience:

  • Required: 6+ years of professional experience, including:

  • 2+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy organization

  • Experience owning or driving cross-functional programs or products (e.g., in lifecycle marketing, customer success, retention, or product/ops)

  • Preferred: Experience in the higher education or edtech sector

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven ability to turn strategic ideas into executed programs with measurable results.

  • Strong conceptual problem-solving skills – ability to break down complex problems in a structured manner, and go beyond first-level insights to find the root cause

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Data-fluent: Able to structure analyses, interpret data, and define metrics that matter.

  • Customer-obsessed: Understand and design around the student journey and friction points.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and operational teams.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, fast-paced environments, and competing priorities.

  • Collaborative, humble, and outcomes-oriented.
