The Director of IT Financial Applications & Processes is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of Honeywell Aerospace & Defense’s financial technology landscape. This role leads the modernization, governance, and optimization of enterprise financial applications and end-to-end finance processes in a highly regulated, global environment.

The Director partners closely with Finance, Aerospace & Defense business leaders, and corporate IT to ensure financial systems enable accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and business growth. Support sustainment of SAP ECC landscape and all ancillary financial applications including Oracle Hyperion (e.g., HFM, Planning, Essbase, FCCS), as well as EPM - Enterprise Performance Management solutions. 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the end-to-end IT strategy and delivery for financial applications, including SAP ECC Finance and supporting finance systems across Aerospace & Defense.
  • Lead large-scale SAP ECC financial initiatives, including implementations, upgrades, carve-outs, integrations, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to align technology solutions with financial strategy, regulatory requirements, and business outcomes.
  • Provide governance and oversight for Record-to-Report (RTR), Financial Close, Controlling, Asset Accounting, Treasury, and Compliance processes.
  • Ensure SOX, ITGC, export controls, and regulatory compliance are embedded into system design, operations, and controls.
  • Manage strategic systems integrators and technology partners, including delivery quality, financial performance, and contractual accountability.
  • Lead and develop global, matrixed IT teams, including onshore and offshore resources, fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of financial processes and systems while balancing unique Aerospace & Defense regulatory and operational needs.
  • Provide executive-level program status, risk management, and financial reporting to senior IT and business leadership.
  • Support M&A, divestitures, and business transitions, ensuring financial system readiness, data integrity, and continuity of operations.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 8 or more years of progressive IT experience, with significant leadership experience supporting enterprise finance applications.
  • Proven expertise with SAP ECC Finance, including FI, CO, Asset Accounting, and integration with adjacent enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions, including Oracle Hyperion (e.g., HFM, Planning, Essbase, FCCS), supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and management reporting in a global enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), integrations, extensions, reporting, or analytics in an SAP S/4 landscape.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into business impact.

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with SAP Central Finance, including design, deployment, or support of Central Finance architectures to enable financial harmonization, real-time replication, and transition to SAP S/4HANA in complex enterprise landscapes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale SAP programs in complex, global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Aerospace & Defense financial processes, cost accounting, compliance, and government contracting considerations.
  • Experience operating in highly regulated environments, including SOX, ITGC, and export-controlled systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar portfolios, delivery roadmaps, and competing priorities.
  • Experience leading organizational change, adoption, and transition to steady-state support models.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
