The Director of Global Sourcing drives sourcing excellence and supplier performance across multiple locations, leading cost-reduction initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders to implement strategic sourcing strategies.
Work Flexibility: Remote or Hybrid or OnsiteTravel Requirement: This position requires up to 50% travel, including both domestic and international trips.Position Summary: The Director, Sourcing is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and organizational capability across the Instruments Division’s sites in Kalamazoo, MI, Arroyo, PR, and Tijuana, MX. This role oversees a team of sourcing professionals and operates within a highly matrixed global environment, requiring strong collaboration, strategic insight, and disciplined execution.The Director will lead cost‑reduction initiatives, ensure year‑over‑year productivity improvements, and deliver value through optimized total cost of ownership—while maintaining or enhancing product quality and supplier service levels. This role works closely with divisional and corporate stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies that support operations serving numerous Business Units.Who we want-

- Lead the development and implementation of strategies and goals in support of overall divisional business objectives for Kalamazoo, Arroyo and Tijuana.
- Establish and maintain contractual and business relationships with the senior management of key suppliers.
- Lead critical program initiatives
- Formulate and implement processes to build a best in class strategic sourcing organization
- Lead sourcing analysis and selection process and performs cost analyses and make vs buy analyses as required
- Advise others on selection/cost analysis
- Align on strategic investments for new technologies or capabilities externally at suppliers and internally with R&D or Business Development Teams.
- Negotiate, establish, monitor and enforce supplier contracts and agreements
- Drive negotiation with large scale, high impact suppliers
- Develop strong partnership relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses
- Mobilize teams to deploy risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing, IP acquisition, market assessments, supplier's financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, ethics etc.
- Partner with finance to drive raw material pricing strategies and react to changing market conditions. Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers
- Utilize market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes
- Ensure cost standards are established for annual operating budgets
- Organize and lead scorecard review meetings and executive business reviews
- Minimum of 10 years of / Sourcing / Procurement Supply chain experience preferably in medical devices or other highly regulated environments
- Strategic thinker – understands the details but can operate at a higher level
- Strong leadership & interpersonal skills with the ability to engage & influence senior stakeholders
- Strong people leading and talent management skills
- Experience with world-class strategic sourcing & category management practices
- Strong negotiations skills negotiating and implementing commercial contracts to include: supply and quality agreements (QAA).
- Strong written & verbal communication skills across all levels
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate initiatives with a virtual, global/regional team
- Persuasive ‘change agent’ capable of challenging conventional wisdom
- Track record of success in capturing value and driving spend to preferred suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and improve vendor performance

- Ability to align with peers / stakeholders and build and maintain strong networks
- Must be willing to work in a results based, fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
- For US Based Candidates, we expect a total compensation of 155,900.00 - 233,000.00 USD salary plus bonus eligible + generally eligible for short-term and long-term financial incentives + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
