About the Role
The Director, Global Compensation is a key leader within the People team, responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and administration of all compensation programs globally. Reporting to the VP, Global Total Rewards, this role requires a highly experienced and analytical professional with a deep understanding of broad-based and executive compensation, sales compensation, and equity programs.
As Lyra continues to expand globally, a near-term critical focus of this role will be to integrate existing compensation programs into a comprehensive, globally-minded, locally-delivered structure, while also developing new programs in geographies where they don’t yet exist.
You will drive a compensation philosophy that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence at all levels are critical for success in this role.
This role can be carried out from our Burlingame, CA headquarters, hybrid, or fully remote/virtually. Remote candidates must be physically located within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of global broad-based compensation programs, including base pay structures, annual incentive plans, and long-term incentive plans.
- Manage and administer executive compensation programs, including executive salary, bonus, and equity plans, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Partner with our Go To Market Operations team to ensure sales compensation plans that align with overall compensation philosophy and talent objectives.
- Partner with the Equity team to ensure equity compensation programs deliver value and align to overall compensation philosophy.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for compensation within Workday, leveraging its capabilities for efficient program administration, reporting, and analysis.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis and benchmarking to ensure the competitiveness of compensation programs across all levels and regions.
- Develop and maintain compensation policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Partner with HR Business Partners, legal, finance, and other internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure compensation programs support organizational goals.
- Lead and mentor a team of compensation professionals, fostering their growth and development.
- Manage relationships with external compensation consultants and vendors.
- Assist with preparation of compensation-related materials for review by Executive Leadership, the Compensation and Talent Committee and the Board of Directors as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in compensation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience designing and managing global broad-based compensation programs.
- Proven experience with executive compensation design and administration.
- Strong foundational knowledge of sales compensation principles.
- In-depth knowledge of equity compensation vehicles and administration.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Workday HCM, specifically in compensation modules.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with all levels of an organization, including senior executives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced, global environment.
