Director, FP&A

AvidXchange Financial Planning & Analysis team is seeking an FP&A leader who will oversee a high-performing team responsible for leading financial planning processes for revenue, including monthly close and forecasting, annual budgeting, management and Board reporting. This individual will also play a crucial role in guiding our financial planning systems strategy, roadmap and execution. This role will report directly to the VP, FP&A, collaborating across the entire business. 
 

What you'll do

  • Establish and enhance best-in-class forecasting and reporting processes. Drive monthly and quarterly financial processes, including analysis of budget vs. actual close results, forecast updates, standard financial and operational reporting, production of exec presentations and Earnings prep
  • Understand and highlight key performance indicators and drivers of change within the financial results and present results to the senior management team to inform strategic decision making. Develop a thorough understanding of business and key metrics in order to synthesize trends and communicate risks & opportunities that influence business outcomes
  • Be a thought leader and partner cross-functionally to drive strategic initiatives while scaling the company
  • Develop analytical and reporting tools to seamlessly track and measure financial results and key operational metrics
  • Partner with key stakeholders and business leaders across the organization to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
  • Lead and mentor FP&A team by providing financial leadership and analytical support
  • Maintain and improve predictability of financial results through enhancements of internal processes and partnership across the organization
  • Implement improvements & automation to streamline current processes. Proactively identify areas of opportunity and drive execution 

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of work experience in FP&A, Investor Relations, investment banking, consulting, or private equity
  • Extensive financial modeling experience
  • FinTech experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Effective project management skills; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
  • Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
  • Strong analytical skills including data/trend analysis, with proven ability to summarize complex data into key takeaways
  • Experience working with financial systems (Adaptive experience a plus)
  • Positive attitude with high aptitude to learn new things quickly. Team player eager to further develop and grow with us
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and hunger to continually up-level current approaches and processes
